WATCH: Henrik Stenson needs three strokes to get out of water hazard
This was a bad hole and a bad week for someone who has played well at Bay Hill
Henrik Stenson was my pick to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week. Unfortunately for him, that’s not going to happen -- not after shooting a 3-over 75 on Thursday and making this triple bogey on the par-4 11th hole on Friday.
Stenson hit his second shot on the 438-yard hole into the water hazard and then took three strokes just to get the ball back on the green. He went on to tap in for a triple (in his bare feet) to go to 7 over for the week.
After the hole was over, Stenson rolled his ball back in the lake. A present for the water that kept him from playing the weekend.
Despite two birdies coming home, Stenson will finish well outside the cut line at Bay Hill where he has finished in the top eight each of the last four years.
