Wilson clinches spot at Ryder Cup; Havret wins

GLENEAGLES, Scotland (AP) -Oliver Wilson clinched Europe's 10th and final automatic Ryder Cup spot Sunday by finishing 10th at the Johnnie Walker Championship won by Gregory Havret.

Wilson shot a 4-under 69 to leave Nick Dougherty needing a victory to have a chance to make the team for the Sept. 19-21 tournament against the United States at Valhalla in Kentucky.

Dougherty (70) bogeyed three of the first six holes before recovering with six birdies for a share of seventh place.

Justin Rose and Soren Hansen also made the qualifying list by staying ahead of Wilson in the top 10. The other seven automatic qualifiers are Padraig Harrington, Sergio Garcia, Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson, Robert Karlsson, Miguel Angel Jimenez and Graeme McDowell.

Europe captain Nick Faldo was scheduled to announce his two wild-card picks later Sunday.

Havret, who led after every round, sank a 10-foot par putt for a 3-under 70 to win the title by one stroke at 14-under 278. Graeme Storm, who birdied the last, was second, and Peter Hanson (69) and David Howell (71) shared third.
