Campbell's wife delivers their first child

ST. LOUIS (AP) -Chad Campbell ended a whirlwind week when his wife gave birth to their first child.

Campbell, whom U.S. captain Paul Azinger selected with his final pick for the Ryder Cup, withdrew from the BMW Championship on Saturday when his wife began contractions. The PGA Tour said their son, Dax Phillip, was born late that evening in Dallas.

The 34-year-old Campbell will be playing in his third Ryder Cup on Sept. 19-21 in Louisville, Kentucky.
