Ryder Cup organizers warn about unauthorized ticket dealers

NEWPORT, Wales -- The organizers of next year's Ryder Cup are warning golf fans that unauthorized dealers are selling overprice tickets which may not be valid.

The United States' defense of the title against Europe at Celtic Manor in Wales is less than a year away and European Ryder Cup director Richard Hills said Monday that fans are buying tickets from unauthorized sellers.

Hills said the ticket sellers were impostors who were prepared to cheat both individual fans and companies. They were also trying to sell unauthorized hospitality packages.

The Ryder Cup is set for Oct. 1-3, 2010.
