Woods' decision personal, but Parry critical

COOLUM, Australia (AP) -Tiger Woods' decision to take an indefinite break from golf has brought understanding, if not forgiveness, from his fellow pros.

Craig Parry, a friend of Woods who lives nearby in Windermere, Florida, discovered the news as he was finishing the third round at the Australian PGA on Saturday.

"Oh really, hmmm," said Parry. "It's his personal life, so that's up to him if he wants to get his family life in order. It's a hard thing to come back from."

Parry caught up with Woods in Melbourne when the world's No. 1 played the Australian Masters last month - Woods final tournament before his car crash and subsequent news of infidelities. They played a practice round and the first two tournament rounds together.

Friendship aside, Parry had some criticism for Woods on Saturday.

"What he did was totally wrong," Parry said. "And he's got no one to blame except himself. You can look at other people, but he's the one who's got to look in the mirror."

Max Garske, chief executive of the PGA of Australia, said the player and his family needed personal time.

"We fully support what a delicate situation it is for Tiger and his family where clearly they need their privacy and time to rebuilt their lives."
