Grace, Finch lead at Joburg, but Round 3 incomplete

JOHANNESBURG -- Branden Grace and Richard Finch moved to 15-under and a one-shot lead at the Joburg Open before the third round was suspended for bad light on Saturday.

South African Grace had only played 15 holes of his third round, while England's Finch was through 14, meaning Canadian Andrew Parr and another home player, Dawie van der Walt, shared the clubhouse lead on 12-under 203 at the European tour event.

Two-time defending champion and Masters winner Charl Schwartzel missed the cut earlier in the day as the second event of the new season played catch-up after losing time on Thursday and Friday because of thunderstorms.

Play was then incomplete for the third straight day at Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club with 27 of 67 players required to finish their third rounds early on Sunday.

Grace made five birdies in his 15 holes to move into a share of the tournament lead with Finch, who carded an eagle, four birdies and two bogeys in his incomplete round.

George Coetzee was 14-under through 14 holes to trail by a shot.

Parr had eight birdies in a faultless 8-under 64 on the East Course to race up the leaderboard and into contention with his share of the clubhouse lead. Van der Walt was alongside him after six birdies and just one slip, a bogey at the par-4 No. 3.

Schwartzel bogeyed No. 17 in his second round on the way to 3-under 141 to just miss out at his home tournament, with the cut at 4-under.

Fellow major-winner Retief Goosen was tied for 10th on 10-under after completing 15 holes of his third round.
