Each week during the official PGA Tour season, CBSSports.com's Kyle Porter will give his best shot at pegging the winner and seeing what other golfers will have a good week. The picks are based on a combination of homework, guesswork and just plain instinct.

Pick to Win

Justin Rose

Odds: 20 to 1

World Ranking: 3rd

It's his putting that has derailed him in past events. He says he now has that figured out. He has a history here too: Rose finished eighth last year, 11th in 2011, and was one back going into the final round in 2007. He's played poorly on Saturdays and Sundays though. I look for his putting to save him from sliding on the weekend here and a final group pairing on Sunday will propel him to his first major.
Lock for Top-10 finish

Tiger Woods

Odds: 5 to 2

World Ranking: 1st

I would bet basically everything I own he finishes in the top 10 this year. Consider: including his win in 1997, he's only finished outside the top 10 four times in his last 16 appearances. Through it all -- the scandal, the injuries, the swing changes -- he knows how to play this course better than anyone in the field. Couple that with the fact that he's been the best golfer on Tour so far this year and, well, that's a recipe for another top 10 finish.
Sleeper

Bo Van Pelt

Odds: 100 to 1

World Ranking: 25th

The darkest of dark horses here given that he's missed three of his last four stroke play cuts. Van Pelt shot an insane 64 in the final round of the 2012 Masters though and like we've gone over time and again, if you know this course you have a chance.
