Last year: South Korea's K.J. Choi won his third PGA TOUR title, holding off Shigeki Maruyama by two strokes. Choi shot 64-69-67-66.

Last week: Tiger Woods won the World Golf Championships-American Express Championship in England for his sixth straight PGA TOUR-sanctioned victory, shooting 63-64-67-67 for a 23-under total and eight-stroke margin. It was his eighth victory of the year, making him the first player in American tour history to win at least eight times in three seasons. ... D.J. Trahan won the Southern Farm Bureau Classic for his first PGA TOUR victory, birdieing the par-5 18th hole three straight times in a playoff to beat Joe Durant.

Notes: Sam Snead won the tournament a tour-record eight times from 1938-65, including consecutive victories in 1949-50 and 1955-56. His 1965 victory made him the TOUR's oldest winner at 52 years, 10 months, 8 days. ... Davis Love III, the 1992 winner, oversaw a course renovation project three years ago. ... Brent Geiberger won the 2004 tournament, making him and father Al the first father-son duo to win the same PGA TOUR event. Al Geiberger won in 1976. ... Stewart Cink and J.J. Henry will represent the United States in December in the World Cup. ... The Frys.com Open is next week in Las Vegas, followed by the FUNAI CLASSIC at the WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort.

Last year: Hale Irwin won the fourth of his four 2005 titles to push his Champions Tour-record victory total to 44, capping a back-nine run with an eagle in a two-stroke victory over Tom Jenkins and Bob Gilder.

Last week: Andy Bean won the Greater Hickory Classic at Rock Barn for his first Champions Tour title, two-putting for birdie to beat R.W. Eaks on the first hole of a playoff. The 53-year-old Bean won in his 91st start on the 50-and-over tour after winning 11 times on the PGA TOUR. He opened with rounds of the 63 and 70.

Notes: Craig Stadler won the 2004 event with a tournament-record 17-under 199 total. ... Bruce Lietzke won the 2001 and 2002 tournaments. ... The Administaff Small Business Classic is next week in Spring, Texas, followed by the AT&T Championship in San Antonio and the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Sonoma, Calif.

Purse: $4.82 million. Winner's share: $803,150. Last year: Scotland's Colin Montgomerie won for the first time in Scotland since 1999, beating England's Kenneth Ferrie by a stroke.

LPGA TOUR

Course: Tres Marias Residential Golf Club (6,759 yards, par 73).
Purse: $1 million. Winner's share: $150,000.

Last year: Sweden's Carin Koch won her second American women's tour title, beating France's Karine Icher by six strokes in the inaugural tournament. Last event: Karrie Webb held off Annika Sorenstam by a stroke on Sept. 24 in the Longs Drugs Challenge in Danville, California, for her tour-high fourth victory.

Notes: Mexico's Lorena Ochoa leads the U.S. tour in money, scoring, greens in regulation and eagles and is tied for second with three victories. She has six wins in the last three seasons. ... The top 90 players on the money list after the tournament will receive exempt status for the 2007 season and players ranked 91st to 125th will get nonexempt status. The event also is the final tournament to gain entry into the season-ending ADT Championship. ... Michelle Wie will return to the tour next week for the Samsung World Championship in Palm Desert, California.
