Atlanta Athletic Club

No. 9 - Par 4, 426 yards

"A well-placed drive here should set up an excellent birdie opportunity before heading into the back nine. The key will be to make sure and keep the ball between the bunkers that guard both sides of the slightly elevated landing area. A tee shot that gets going left will most certainly finish in the left side bunker. At 310 yards out some players will be able to carry the right hand bunkers but this is not the line. Anything out of the fairway to the right will deal with deep rough and be blocked out by trees for the second shot. The ideal tee shot will leave a short iron approach to a well-bunkered green that is positioned slightly downhill for the player. Club selection on the approach shot will be critical as this wide green has a variety of challenging hole locations. Front left can be severe as the green slopes from front to back. When the flag is back right, this hole can play one to two clubs longer."
