INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Betting favorite Lion Heart handily beat four rivals, romping to a six-length victory Saturday in the $100,000 Hollywood Prevue Stakes.
Ridden by Mike Smith, Lion Heart covered seven furlongs in a stakes record time of 1:20.63 and paid $3 and $2.20. Cooperation returned $2.20 in the race for 2-year-olds. Voladero was third, but there was no payout for show betting because there were only four entries.
Lion Heart won for his second time in as many starts to increase his career earnings to $85,200.
