TOP 25 TEAMS & TOP 100 PLAYERS FOR 2010

Trinity (Euless, TX) tabbed as preseason #1 team, RB/LB James Wilder (Plant - Tampa, FL) named top player

California & Florida lead all states with four teams apiece in the Top 25, Florida places 16 players in the Top 100

JUNE 9, 2010 - CAMERON PARK, CA: MaxPreps.com, the online high school sports leader and one of the fastest growing sports sites on the Internet, today announced they have released their preseason Top 25 high school football teams and Top 100 players for the 2010 high school football season.

Trinity (Euless, TX), the defending 5A-I state champions of Texas sit atop the MaxPreps.com preseason Top 25 writers' poll compiled by National Football Editor Steve Spiewak with Butler (Matthews, N.C.) and Abilene (Abilene, TX) coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively. While the state of Texas claimed two of the top three spots in the MaxPreps.com preseason Top 25, Florida and California had the most teams making the rankings with four apiece. Plant (Tampa, Fla.) two-way standout James Wilder enters the summer as the No. 1 football recruit in the Class of 2011, according to MaxPreps.com and CBSSports.com recruiting analyst Tom Lemming. Wilder, a linebacker and running back, was a dominant force on both sides of the ball for Plant, which captured the Florida 5A state title in 2009. Overall, the state of Florida landed 16 players in the Top 100 rankings with Texas (10) and California (8) coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively (see partial list below)
