Cover Stories
Each day several threads, blogs or Community contests will be featured from our cover stories area. Be sure to check out this area for the latest in Community news.
Community Features
Users can utilize the Community Features box to find our most popular community products. Users can click on the 'Board Central' or 'Browse the Boards' text link to see a full list of Message Boards that appear on CBSSports.com. Users, from the full Message Boards list, can dig deeper to find a specific thread, or they can create their own thread or poll. Users can also click on the 'Board Central' image to get to the full list of Message Boards.
Blog information can be found on the right side of the Community Features box. Users can see a list of all blog entries on CBSSports.com by clicking on the 'Your Blog, Your Voice' text link or the image directly above the text link. The 'Create a Blog' link will send users to a page where they can create a blog.
Hottest Thread of the Day
This displays the top 15 threads of the day along with the 'Subject' of the thread, the member it was 'started by' and time of the 'last post'. These threads are automatically selected based on their popularity, which takes into consideration the number of replies, views and the score of the thread. This list will change throughout the day as some threads become hotter than others.
Community Search
Users should simply type in a word or phase, in the text box, that they would like to search. The search return will show all of the matches for that word or phase that is present in the Community. The search scans all of our Message Boards, threads and blogs for possible matches.
Message Board/Blogs Categories
Users can see all of the current Message Boards/Blogs available along with the number of posts within each category. Users can simply click on the 'Boards' or 'Blogs' tab and start to dig deeper.
Member Search
Users should click on the 'Members' tab underneath the 'Community Search' box to find a Community member.
Hottest Blogs
This lists the most popular blog entries of the day based on the number of comments.
My Community
Users can use this box to see any new activity regarding their profile. Users will be able to see if they have new messages or comments left for them. (Note: Users must be logged in to see this box).
Featured Member
Every Sunday a new member will be selected as the 'Featured Member' for that week. These members are automatically selected based on the following list of criteria:
Is Superstar status at time of selection
Has no upheld warnings in the past 6 months
Has referred/invited at least 10 Community members
Was added as a favorite by other members at least 30 times
Was not a "Featured Member" in the past 3 months
Top Members Online Now
This displays the top members that are currently logged into the Community and have been active in the past half an hour. These members' screen name, avatar, level icon, top 10, 100 or 1000 icon, and their last post time will be displayed and hyperlinked.
