So Drew Brees is playing the Chargers, will he vanquish the team that spurned him or will his successor Philip Rivers come out on top? This game could be interesting because both qbs are doing very well this season and both of the defenses are less than spectacular. If this game becomes a back and forth score fest, watch out, because this could quickly turn into a good ol' fashion shootout with the last team to have the ball wins the game. Here are my thoughts before the game:
This one is gonna be high scoring, it has all the ingredients to be a high scoring game. Both offenses are high powered scoring machines lead by their respective quarterbacks. While both defenses are pretty weak so far and can let a team score alot of points against them. These two factors combined lead me to believe that both teams are gonna score ALOT of points. Look for big games from Rivers, Vincent Jackson, and Antonio Gates for the bolts while for the Saints Brees and Marques Colston are probly gonna have pretty big days too. I bet each team scores more than 21 points.
The only bright side I see to defense is that Reggie Bush is injured and will not play. This could be good for the bolts since the saints will probly have to rely even more on the pass game, and too much reliance on the pass game can lead to mistakes that lead to interceptions. I think Brees will throw one pick, but it wont be a game changing interception or anything. Overall I dont see much hope for either defense, unless the bolts can some how get pressure on brees, and same for the saints on rivers.
Overall I see this game being a high-scoring, exciting game, and in the end i think the chargers just have more weapons and will win this game: Chargers 35, Saints 31
