Pro bowl thoughts

So the pro bowl rosters have been announced, and there are two Chargers on it: Kris Dielman and Antonio Gates, both are extremely deserving and have played very well. But it is kind of funny only having two representatives because im so used to having like 8 bolts in the past few years, but not too many bolts are really deserving this season. But there are quite a few snubs that should have made the pro bowl but did not from the chargers. Here they are:

1. Philip Rivers: i mean i understand Peyton Manning and Jay Cutler being there, they both definitely deserve it. But what I do not at all get is that Brett Favre got chosen over rivers. Rivers has more touchdowns, less interceptions, and better qb rating. So how does favre beat him? Pure popularity, its ridiculous to say the least. But that can happen, and its just the pro bowl

2. Mike Scifres: easily the best punter in the league, i mean this guy is so good at positioning the ball and just last week against the Chiefs he had a successful onside kick. I dont get how he didnt make it

there you go, that is my two cents, have a happy christmas

Pro bowl thoughts

I am a Charger fan, have watched all of the games this year, and here is my take on the situation...

Rivers should be in, no question, he could honestly be the starter.  Should have gotten in before Cutler and Farve.

Scifres does deserve it, but the AFC is stacked with great punters.  Can't go wrong with Lechler.  No beef with the pick.

Gates has not had the year he usually has, but I don't think there is any TE in the AFC other than Gonzo that is having a Pro Bowl season.  So they go with the biggest name.

I don't know what Dielman has done this year to deserve his spot this season.  The o-line in general has been awful all season.  I am sure there is someone much more deserving.

The other 2 guys on the Bolts that have a right to say they should be going are Jamal Williams and Kassim Osgood.  Jamal after week 5 or 6 has been a force, much better than Shaun Rogers has been this year.  Kassim is amazing at what he does, he has been to 2 in a row, so I understand they need to let some others get in there, but he is a playmaker in every special teams play.

Pro bowl thoughts

I know that the pro bowl is really just a popularity contest, but its still frustrating when somebody on your favorite team really deserves but gets overlooked. Im sure its happened to all of us

Pro bowl thoughts

I agree rivers should have made it look at his td to int ratio but anyone that really loves the game knows that the probowl is just a popularity contest anyways they might as well be walking down runways and answering questions on how they would change the world with a billion dollars

I understand your frustration of not having Phillip make the probowl, but I do not see how Gates deserved to be a pro bowler that was a popularity pick. Owen Daniels is having a better season, so you get some and you lose some.
