Across the Pond

The Saints won a close one against San Diego today.  They passed the ball up and down the field and sprinkled in a touch of running game.  They had real trouble stopping Rivers and the Chargers offense.  The more I watch this team the more I wonder one thing; How long can Drew Brees put this team on his shoulders and win games for them?

Drew Brees is in my opinion the best quarterback in the NFL.  But there is no way that come playoff time he is going to be able to win games in cold weather when teams are pounding the ball against the Saints defense and eating up clock.  The Panthers and Bucs both have excellent running attacks and are the type of teams that could keep the ball out of Brees' hands and prevent him from marching the Saints up and down the field repeatedly.

Deuce McCallister had a nice game and ran the ball well. It is evident however, that the Saints miss Reggie Bush.  Bush has been the ultimate weapon for New Orleans' offense throughout this season and the Saints need desperately to get him back in the starting lineup.

The Saints get a bye week next week and it could not have come at a better time.  Look for them to rest up their players and hopefully get healthy for their next game in two weeks.

Final Grade
