The NEW YOUR Giants returned to the site of their unbelievable upset of the NEW ENGLAND Patriots in the SUPER BOWL....this time around they faced the 7-3 ARIZONA Cardinals......although the Cards kicked a field goal to take a 3-0 lead.....and a 9-7 lead (they botched the extra point off the HIGHTOWER TD)...The Cards played catch-up pretty much the rest of the way.....a 12-10 2nd quarter lead turned into a 17-10 deficit at the half....The 2nd half belonged to Eli Manning as he was 16-18 and 2 touchdowns to lead the GIANTS to a 37-29 win. was once again a special teams break down for the Cards.....they were penalized 3 times and 2 long HIXON returns of 83 and 68 yards led to 10 Giants points to make the difference.................The cards also were inept in running the ball totally only 23 total yards on 15 carries!!!! Warner did a great job with his short passing game, even though the Giants were "keying" on the pass most of the 2nd half! Warner finished the game 32-52 for 351 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, and a lost fumble......5 players caught passes, At least 5 each, with Boldins 11 for 87 and a TD leading the way........The Cards had a golden opportunity on an on-side kick but Ralph Brown lost the ball, the Giants recovered and kicked a Fg...the Cards answered with a FG of their own.....The subsequent on-side kick was recovered by the Giants, they took a knee and that was the game..........What did we learn from todays game? 1....The Cards are for real...they played the best team in the NFL down to the wire.....2.....they need alot on special teams if they will have a chance to advance in the post season! The penalties are actually pathetic now! They also can't allow teams to continuously have big returns!........and 3.....they need to establish a running game against a team thats not 2-7!!!!!! The lack of a running game will be a recipe for defeat in the post season. 4.....Rackers is back! he is once again a "MONEY" kicker! I'd like to see more touchbacks...but besides that, he's on a roll! The Cards go EAST AGAIN to play THANKSGIVING NIGHT in PHILLY, against an EAGLE team they should beat! More on that in my next blog!.................Cards are still sitting pretty with a chance to wrap the division up this Thursday with a win in PHILLY!!! WOW I like that way that sounds!
