Was it a win for the ages? Not quite.... But at least they won for the second time this year. The Bengals actually played a decent game for the first time in awhile. The Bengals have gotten crushed the 3 previous weeks by the Steelers, the Colts, and the Ravens. The three previous games were UGLY! But, I stuck by my poor Bengals and they were able to squeak out their second win of the season. They have played the NFC East much better than the AFC North. In honor of their amazing feat I have ended my blog strike and I will be covering the Bengals again. I am excited to see what changes are in-store for the Bengals this off-season. The one bright spot this year has been the play of the young defense. Under Mike Zimmer the defense has really turned things around and has given me hope that maybe someday the Bengals can have a complete team. They need to get better up front on both sides of the ball, but I don't think they are that far off from competing.

D's Upgrades for the Bengals:

  1. Oline Upgrade and get Carson Healthy (Center and OT)
  2. Find a pass rusher some how.
  3. Get a nice RB in the 3rd or 4th round.
  4. Re-sign Benson and TJ.
  5. Upgrade Depth.

Congrats Bengals on #2!!!

Welcome back, D'Know! I missed your articles...

I think if you're looking for o-line help, you couldn't do better than getting Andre Smith out of Alabama or Michael Oher out of Ole Miss.

I would think seriously about grabbing RB Knowshon Moreno out of Georgia - the hell with it, trade those 2nd & 3rd round picks for a mid-low end 1st rounder!

I think they may franchise TJ... Let Simpson and Caldwell get another year under their belt. They better not franchise Andrews again. I wouldn't mind them re-signing him just don't franchise him! It will be interesting to see what happens this off-season....

A Win for the Ages!!! Bengals get #2 for 08'

My last post was not to imply that T.J. has been squawking. Refreshingly, he and his agent have kept the talks where
they belong, in private behind closed doors. But T.J. has dropped plenty of hints that he doesn't think he'll be back, so he apparently is asking for a lot, or at least more than the Bengals believe they can offer.

Great points, Dknow! I'm hoping against miserable hope that T.J. will be back, but it's not looking good. The Bengals are not known for pulling off signing miracles. The last veteran who did a lot of squawking was Ocho Cinco. He got what he wanted, and he's still been squawking. The Bengals need T.J.

I think Benson  has shown that he is worth keeping on board. Improve the O line, and he will be able to perform that much better.

Here's looking forward to two more games, then 2009!
