This will be similar to SkyDog's The Never Ending Song Game,One of the BEST Boards on Here! You should definitely visit that thread, the people are great, and it picks your brain in music the way this one does in baseball.
Name an MLB player, but the next post has to have the same first name or first letter,or the last name has to start with the same last name or first letter of the last name.
Example: George Foster  next post  George Herman Ruth next post  Jimmy Rollins, etc. Let's have fun with this, there are so many,I am excited to see who comes up with some one year wonders and some oldies but goodies!
I am so glad there are so many CBS members enjoying this blog/thread. It gets tougher and tougher to come up with some names, but it has made me go back and look at my collections of baseball books and cards, which I have not done in some time. Also,if you have time, check out some of the previous posts, any additional information you know about certain players is greatly appreciated! Again, thanks to everyone for checking this out,I think we can keep this going for a long time, and I get the blues after the world Series, and there is no baseball or fantasy baseball to talk about,so i believe this will give us a chance to still stay in touch with our beloved pastime

PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT PAGE 106 ,THERE IS A GUY FROM MY HOMETOWN I WOULD LIKE EVERY ONE TO SEE. IF YOU HAVE AN MLB PLAYER FROM YOUR HOMETOWN PLEASE POST HIM!

I also have a thread called the new new mlb game continued from corn's blog if anyone would like to post there also, thanks for the continued support!

What's funny about Veale he only pitched 2/3 of an inning in the '71 series.

Bob Tewksbury was a pitcher I loved to watch because he was a control pitcher, a catchers dream. He came up with the Yankees in 1986 and had a 13 year career also playing for the Cubs, Cardinals,Texas, San Diego, and finished with the Twins in 1998. He was third in the CY Young Award in 1992, a distance away from Greg Maddux. Tewks had an ERA of 2.16 and 16 wins in '92.

Bob Veale - Pitched for the Pirates in the 60s and 70s, won game 1 of the 71 World Series, then finished his career with the Red Sox.

Really hard thrower, favorite story, but probably urban legend - Veale lost a lens from his glasses, but said he could see well enough to pitch.  He threw so hard, no one wanted to stand in against without those glasses.

Bobby Castillo was a pitcher who some say taught Fernando the screwball. He pitched for the Dodgers (77-81, 85) and the Twins (82-84).

Bobby Doerr HOF was a great second baseman for the Boston RedSox from 1937 to 1951. He was a nine time All Star. Gotta love the SoCal guys.
