Here are my top 10 rivalries to watch in the 2008-09 NBA season.  Please note that all times are the Eastern Time.

Good Team vs. Rival Team

1) Los Angeles Lakers vs. Boston Celtics
Reason for the great watch: Historic well-known rivalry since the 1960s - Good Lakers and Evil Celtics.  Go Lakers!
* Boston at Los Angeles (Dec 25 at 5:00 PM, ABC)
Prediction: Lakers win by 35-55 points in revenge after the Celtics embarrassingly blew the Lakers out by 39 points (131-92) in Game 6 of last season’s NBA Finals at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston.  Now, it is the Lakers’ turn to kill the all-time cheating and meanest Celtics with at least 40-point blowout at the Staples Center in Los Angeles!  Good enough FAIR!
* Los Angeles at Boston (Feb 5 at 8:00 PM, TNT)
Prediction: Lakers win by 15-30 points!
Projected Season Series: Lakers sweep 2-0, period!  No exceptions!

Prediction: Rockets win by 20-25 points in revenge after the Celtics embarrassingly blew the Rockets out by 20 points (94-74 on March 18) in front of the hostile and displeasing crowd of the Rockets spectators.  That was exactly how the bad Celtics snapped the Rockets’ 22-game winning streak, NBA’s all-time second longest streak in history.  Now, it is the Rockets’ turn to kill the Celtics with at least 20-point blowout in front of the bragging Celtics crowd at the TD Banknorth Garden!  Good enough fair!
Projected Season Series: Rockets sweep 2-0, period!  No exceptions!

2008-09 NBA Season: Top 10 Rivalries to Watch

 Hi North Harbour,

Good to see people appreciating the Magic.......*cough* Big B *cough*.....

But I don't think we beat the Celts 4 times this season.

Thanks for a nice response to my blog post, and I appreciate it very much.  Just curious, how many games do you think that the Magic will win versus the Celtics in the 4-game season series?  Your thought would be greatly appreciated.

Unlike Big B that he chose his top 10 games to watch based on the majority of people, I chose my top 10 rivalries to watch based on my personally most interests.  On behalf of the Magic, many of people out there still believe that the Magic are underdog and Celtics are heavy favorite.  Let's hope that the Magic have to prove that they can beat the defending NBA champion Celtics at least 3 times out of 4 games this season.  In that way, it will be proven that people out there are wrong.
