Quinn to start Thursday..

Sir Cheeks... I am not the only one that agrees with you.  I was just listening to the Mike Tirico show and Mike also felt this was not the wisest way to handle this.  Tirico suggested they split the reps this week and turn the reigns over to Brady at halftime.

Interview with national media indicate the Browns are laughing stocks.  (Particularily ignoring Trent Dilfer's comments)...

I think many have been looking forward to the Quinn debut.  Looks like Jim Brown finally got his way...On a personal note, just today I got a call from my daughter and she is flying in from Baltimore to come to the game.  At least the fans are pumped up...

Quinn to start Thursday..

I would have preferred Brady Quinn make his first start against Buffalo. Unless the Browns predetermined Quinn would start this game, an accelerated week of practice is the worst way to welcome a young QB into the NFL.

Quinn has always been regarded as an intelligent player. Hopefully the game speed would not be too much for him, and he will succeed in his first start.

On a side note, talk about an interesting decision by  Savage and Crennel! Coming out this early in the week and announcing Brady the starter does three things for the Browns:
  1. It lets the media and fans know to anticipate Brady Quinn's arrival.
  2. It lets the players anticipate Brady Quinn's arrival.
  3. It lets the Denver Broncos anticipate Brady Quinn's arrival.
From an X's and O's perspective, you never want to tip your hand to the opposition when you do not have to. Had the Browns quietly named Brady Quinn the starter, the Broncos would have prepared for Derek Anderson and most likely been caught off guard. Is selling extra tickets really worth jeopardizing a team victory? I don't think so.
