I think Romeo is in trouble...

There is an article on Cleveland.com tonight and this 'quitter' thing won't go away.  Romeo came out and denied what was said and Jamal Lewis came out and stated his case again.  http://www.cleveland.com/browns/ind

You can call it what you want, you can put lipstick on it, but it is still a pig.

I think Romeo is in trouble...

Jake, cheeks -

Sometimes players make comments for a reason; for example, two years ago Tiki Barber made comments about TOm COughlin's game planning. My gut told me that his comments were purposeful - he was retiring, and he was frustrated that he'd never get that championship ring so out of spite he threw his coach under the bus. Terrell Owens is all about T.O., so anything he says is a calculated move to better his situation regardless of who it affects.

After reading the article I don't get the sense that Cribbs or Jamal had intentions behind the comments. They probably regret saying those things because they don't seem to want to discuss specific people. I guess unfortunately for Romeo, the comments were not meant to hurt him but probably will hurt him. I don't know the backgroud of therelationships Romeo has with his team so I wouldn't know if this could be viewed as a roundabout way to send a message to ownership or not. I don't think they were taking shots at Romeo, but they must have felt some of their teammates were doggin' it and the frustration just came out.

You're absolutely right Jake. These comments couldn't have come at a worse time for Romeo Crennel.

I hope the Browns will be able to win this upcoming game in Buffalo - and convincingly. As sad as it may seem, a third consecutive loss may be a death sentence for Coach Crennel, and I'd hate to see that happen.

By the way, I should mention quarterbacks coach Rib Scherer would be the most likely interim head coach in case of a mid-season change.

It's unfortunate we're even talking about this, but such is the world we live in :(
