"Theyve beat the good teams (ND and MSU) worse than they've beat some of the bad teams. Thats not good for anyone else in the top 25." -Cardiac
"Another physical Big East team. Adrien and Thabeet are a load inside, and Kemba Walker is one of the better freshman in the country." -Badgers Ballers
3. Pittsburgh (E) 916 10-0 HR-2 LR-5
"Even as a Panther fan, I'm not totally sold on them for the 3 spot. They move up here with the Gonzaga loss, and there's a lot to like about them, but they are relatively untested. A few reasonably decent opponents, but none from the list of teams on my top 25 radar." -Pittbaster
4. Oklahoma (+1) 878 10-0 HR-2 LR-6
"I am a big fan of Griffin and Warren, but the rest of the team worries me. I think they become a bit less successful as the year goes on and coaches settle on how they want to defend the combo." -Azcatsfan
"Played a nice schedule but they just cant put teams away it doesnt seem like. I didnt get to see it but what happend with Texas State? That score seems way to close." -Cardiac
"They are better in the post, but thats still a weakness for this team. If they have an off day from deep, they'll struggle, and I don't see them making it past the Sweet 16 like a certain Duke homer thinks they'll easily make the Final 4." -Badgers Ballers
"I don't believe in this team. Good win against Memphis early, but other than that... Look, Brown is a solid big with good range, and Anderson and Raymond are okay, but this is not a top 10 team." -Azcatsfan
"They got out hustled by a smaller Arizona team. Pargo's passing ability is the key for this team, they'll need to figure out how to succeed when he has an off game." -Naterb
"Syracuse has started with an impressive 9-0 season and is looking to add another win to their tally this week, they are looking like the Cuse of old, when people actually feared the Orangemen...oh wait....they've changed their name." -Dookisevil
"SOS not exactly a strong point, but theyve been winning pretty easily so you cant knock that." -Cardiac
11. Louisville (E) 608 6-1 HR-4 LR-NR
"Lost to WKU but Ive seen them play way more than any other team, we didnt lose enough from last year to not be up here still." -Cardiac
"I know that OSU beat em, and the Buckeyes are near the bottom of this list, but I still think the Irish are the better team." -Badgers Ballers
"I still believe this team will work its way into being a top 5 team at some point this year. They are simply too talented, too deep and too well-coached to not be. Everyone has kind of throw their chances to the side, which I think is a mistake." -Azcatsfan
"I think they'll end up Top 10 by seasons end, and win the Big Ten. They haven't looked good early, but they didn't look good early last year as well." -Badgers Ballers
"They've suprised me early one. Dajuan Summers is really good, and Wright and Freeman in the backcourt is rock solid." -Badgers Ballers
"Ohio State's win over Notre Dame is impressive, but these guys have been in the right place at the right time. They catch Miami without McClinton, for the most part. And they play Notre Dame while Harangody has pneumonia (while he did have a good game)." -NateO
"Good athletes and some solid defense here and there, but I think they're limited offensively and I don't think their post play is particularly good. Tyler Smith is good, but not great. This team probably moves back up in the rankings and is clearly the favorite to win the SEC, but I don't see them improving upon their tournament performance of the last couple seasons." -Azcatsfan
"Villanova fails its first test against a good looking Texas. They played hard, but sloppy - I sense "first big game jitters" in a talented team. They will get over it." -Gezemice
"Memphis chalks up their 2nd close game lose, however both loses are against potential top 10 teams. This month doesnt get any easier as they will play another potential top 10 team in Syracuse this week. This is great experience for this young, yet loaded with potential team." -Halo27legend
"Great balance with 5 guys averaging in double digits, will contend for the Big XII Title this season." -Badgers Ballers
"Davidson moves up in my poll. They played a close one with West Virginia while Curry was off his game - but once he turned it on, it was a no-contest. Without Curry, they are a mediocre team - but with him, they can definitely beat those teams below them in my poll." -Gezemice
"Michigan State just broke 100 points, and could be improving, while the competition was weak-sauce. Still, if you can put 118 on the board against D1 competition, you can score, and that's an asset." -NateO
"Another team like OSU that I think won't finish as high as I have them here. Two good early season wins, but I think they might be on the bubble come Selection Time." -Badgers Ballers
"I haven't watched this team play yet. I'm just ranking them there because of the record and cool colors." -Azcatsfan
"Arizona State has shown nothing to indicate that they are better than their NIT finish from a season ago. If they can plow their way through the first half of the PAC-10 season with only a loss to UCLA, I might believe they're Top 25. But frankly, I don't see that happening. Especially when they struggle to eek out a win against IUPUI. More telling than that is the fact that they only mustered 18 first-half points." -Naterb

What it all means: (First place votes), Team, (Change in rank from last week), Points, Record, Highest Rank, Lowest Rank
Breaking down the rankings: North Carolina remains on top again this week, but no longer are the Heels a unanimous #1. Connecticut picks up a first place vote and lands at #2 followed by Pittsburgh who holds strong in the #3 spot. Two Big 12 schools (Oklahoma & Texas) make up the last of the top 5 after previous #4 Gonzaga lost at Arizona.
Duke comes in at #6 (anyone remember the last time they played!?!) followed by the Musketeers of Xavier and the aformentioned Zags. Syracuse holds in at #9 (remember, this poll does not reflect Monday games) and Wake Forest cracks the top 10 for the first time this season.
The next two slots look the same as last week with Louisville and Notre Dame on the outside of the top 10 for a second straight week. UCLA makes a nice jump up 4 spots to #13 followed by Purdue. Georgetown is up next coming off a nice W over Memphis and just may not be as overated as we all suspeceted.
Ohio State climbs the poll up to #16 followed by our biggest faller of the week Tennessee. The Vols are coming off a loss to Temple and are punished with a 10 spot drop. Next up is another team coming off an L, Villanova. Speaking of L's, we have Memphis up next at #19. Rounding up the top 20 is Baylor which is up 2 spots from last week.
The last five see's Davidson up a couple spots after a nice W in MSG over a Big East foe and two schools from the state of Michigan. MSU continues to slip, down two spots from last week to #22. Up next are two new arrivals who have to share the #23 slot. Michigan and Clemson both climb into the rankings for the first time this season. This weeks poll is finished up with a sliding Arizona State team at #25. A less then impressive W over IUPUI lands this squad on the verge of droping out completely.
That's it for this weeks edition. Hope you enjoyed it! Make sure and look for the People's Poll voting thread each week!
