This Is My Stop Bus Driver

This is where I draw the line. I’m a lifelong Warriors fan. I’m there #1 fan. When it comes to being a Warriors fan…the best anyone can do is tie me.

That being said I was stunned when I heard the news that Jackson wants to be traded. I have stuck with the team threw thick and thin (more thin than thick).  I’ve taken verbal beatings from other fans, I’ve stuck up for Nellie, Jackson, and the entire Warriors organization. But this is where I get off. Its not that Jackson wants to go but it just shows that the Warriors as an organization don’t have it together. Should that surprise me? No. They have taken far too many steps backwards since making the playoffs in 06-07.

This is embarrassing. The Warriors had a lean year this past season due to injuries and I really thought they would be a respectable team this season. But  you can throw all that hope out the window with all of this stuff going on. Not only is the news about Jackson is bad for the teams immediate future but its sets a bad example for guys like Curry, Morrow and Randolph. I repeat…I’m not asking for the Moon here. I just want a competitive team that has a chance to win every night. I just want some respect around the league. I don’t want to be laughed at anymore. I don’t want to be dismissed. Or read another national columnist slipping the Warriors an underhanded compliment or outright dissing the Warriors.

Without that respect, the organization will not be able to sign a all-star free-agent or make a trade of any significance. I took the J-Rich for Brandan Wright trade on the chin.

I looked past the Baron Davis ordeal. I gave them the benefit of the doubt when Mullie’s contract expired but this is it. There’s absolutely no reason why the Bay Area shouldn’t have a top tier NBA team. All blame lies on the Ownership. All of it. As much as I want to turn my frustrations on Jack (or Monta). I see where Jax is coming from.

As much as I like my Warriors fan brethren….I wouldn’t want to play here either. As much I want him to know that the fans love him, I can’t knock him for wanting to play for a contender or at least an organization that wants to win.

It’s pretty evident that the Warriors ownership doesn’t want to win. If they did they wouldn’t have traded J-Rich, let Baron walk or sent Mullie packing. Over the past 3 season they have got rid of the 3 most important guys on the team and this offseason will not be any different. I wouldn’t be surprise if both Jack and Monta are gone before Oct 27th.

I can’t be the only fan that feels this way. Some if not most of you have already reached your tipping point but for me it took a little longer.

Don’t get me wrong Jackson isn’t MJ. Or even DJ (Dennis Johnson) But he’s a good player. He can be replaced but with who. Just think if you were a NBA free agent. Oakland is the last place you want to play.

The Warriors did everything for Jack. They allowed him to resurrect his public image. They made him a captain. They gave him the keys to the car. They paid him. More then anybody in the league was willing to pay him. They allowed him to do what ever he wanted on the court. We know Jackson is loyal…loyal almost to a fault (see Auburn Hills, MI). Yet he wants to leave. Something is wrong…terrible wrong.

If it wasnt for mullins anthony randolph would be gone if nellie had his way. Why dont we give Mullins his due?
he drafts beitrins, steals monte , drafts randolph, finds asubuke, cj watson, Wright if he is ever given a chance. Marco who will be a star some day.  Yes he made mistakes over paying Foyle dunleavey, murphy, but he corrected himself he had baron signed cheaply but that idiot rowell over turned him we have been looking for a point guard  ever since. He saved Nellies coaching career only to have nellie run him over with the team bus. Mullins was probably the most popular warrior of all time and this is how the team treats him unbelievable. Good luck Mully wish you the best.
Mullie was ok. He did some good things; picked up Baron, Monta, Randolph, Biedrins, Jackson, Harrington, Barnes, Watson. But he also drafted Patrick O'brien, Kosta Perovic, Chris Taft, Jermareo Davidson, Stephane Lasme, Richard Hendrix, Ike Deigu, cashed out Derek Fisher, over paid for Murphy, Dunleavy, Foyle and Richardson. Nellie found Azubuike, not Mullie. They both aren't that great.

Ask Tom Tolbert or any past warrior who played for him he is not the most popular coach in the NBA right now. I don't see past players like nash wanting to come back a play for nellie do you. Mullins GM career yes he destroyed. Mitch richmond yes traded him for the great billy owens. Don't see sidney moncrief around anymore do you? Matt Barnes his mother dies do u think Nellie has any compasion for him ....no He cuts him. Tyrone hill destroyed. and many more I remember him trading hardaway right before the playoffs in dallas nice loyalty.  Just curious how many championships  nellie won as a coach?   zero and Bitching at......Harrington gone Baron Gone Jackson soon gone....Monte maybe too  he will destroy this franchise if we are not careful. he threw Mullins under the bus who's next?

borntowinn--Who has Nellie been bitching at recently?  I have not heard of this.  I think you are speaking of the Don Nelson from about 15 years ago.

He has destoyed more careers than he made stars.

Whose career did he destroy?  Mullin's?  Hardaway's? Mitch Richmond's?  Not Sprewell's (remember he joked out PJ and not Nellie).  Dirk Nowitzki's never really done much nor has Steve Nash.  Going super old school how about Paul Pressey?  Sidney Moncrief?  Bob Lanier?  Baron Davis never played well under Nellie either did he?  Matt Barnes was all NBA year after year than he played for Nellie and could do more than be a role player.
Nellie does alway have to have a guys he bitches at because he can't bitch at the stars on the team. The past couple of years it was Al Harrington. Before that it was Tom Tolbert. He's famous for that. But that happens on most teams. But he has know who responds well to that and who doesn't.

This just shows that they can’t keep anybody happy. From the looks of it Jackson was cool with the situation. Now he's not. The organization has fell flat on it face sense they made the playoff. You just don't dismantle the first playoff team in 13 years. That’s just stupid. You have to sign Baron Davis. Regardless of what may happen. You have to take that chance. You just have too. It doesn’t make sense not too.

From a player perspective the Warriors is where your career goes to die, rehabilitate or start.  Nobody wants to come here to stay. It’s not a destination. It’s a pit stop. The organization has accepted that.  The organization has a bad reputation around the league.

The majority of the good Warriors (past and present) at one time or another has had an issues with the coach and or organization. Baron, Pietrus, Harrington, Crawford, Ellis, Jackson, Randolph.  4 of those 7 players are gone and another has requested a trade. That’s pretty sad. That kind of stuff gets around the league. Now free-agent don’t want to play or sign with the Warriors.  Now the Warriors are forced to build a team from within, which is impossible unless you luck up and draft Lebron James or Tim Duncan. Free agency is the key to success in the NBA. And Free agent don’t want to play for the Warriors. These past 3 years would have been the prefect time to change their image around the league but instead they solidified it.

It's called Nellie Hitler

It's nellies way or the highway it just the way he is.
It the Red areubach way of coaching will somebody tell him it the 21 st century.
Nellie always has to have a bitch ......to Bitch at or to make an example of.
He has destoyed more careers than he made stars. Why i dont why but he's got to go...... the players respect Keith Smart who is more of a players coach.

There is no doubt nellie can coach but why now is defense so important to him he doesn't even know how to spell it.
This team is a run and gun team that has alot of shooters and shot blockers. If Nellie doesn't have a brain freeze he will understand that this teams 2nd team is almost as good as the first team.....so play the players 70/30 on the minutes and just run the other teams into the ground. Instead of overplaying his veterens to the point that they are too tired to play the 4 th quarter. How many games did we lose in the 4th quarter?

If jackson wants to leave trade him and maggette to houston for Ariza and Battier that way we get a young player who can run and defend in Ariza and a PRO in Battier who's attitude is team first.

Also if we look at the season Baron Davis put in with the Clippers last year along with how he did the last 15 or so games down the stretch with the Warriors the season before, I would have to say that letting him go was the right move.

In addition, if we compare the season Baron had last year to the season Maggette had last year (whom they signed with $3 million per year less), I would say Maggette had the better season.  Not saying that signing Maggette was necessarily a great signing but it is looking like a better move than re-signing Baron at this point.

Not sure how Stephen Jackson saying he wants to be traded is a dumb move on the part of the organization.  This is what Jackson had to say not the Warriors.
