What's that sound, finally haters quieting

I've been waiting to say this for a while. I've been hearing all the negativity, the reasons, excuses why Kobe Bryant would never win a NBA Championship. The sole reason that he won his previous championships was because he was with Shaquille O'Neal. He could never lead his team to a championship because he was too selfish, and his ego would just compromise the team. Not a true team player, and just out for his own glory.

Nevertheless, the critics you need to sit back and just live with the fact that Kobe Bryant just proved all of you wrong. He showed that he does not need one person around him to win, but a great supporting cast. He did what he needed to do to win. Whether it was communicating with them on the court or in the huddle, or making clutch shots and nice plays in a tight game, KB lead his team in many ways and they responded well.

They said Kobe couldn't make other players around him better. Well I would like to know who knew that Trevor Ariza would grow to become such a considerable part of the Lakers success this seaon. Oh, he was practicing against Kobe everyday for a year and a half. Pau Gasol played with more aggression and intensity this season, with a full season with Kobe, and even Lamar Odom rose his level of play to another level. I believe that with another season younger players like Jordan Farmar, Andrew Bynum, and Shannon Brown their play will be better because of Bryant's presence on the court.

This title speaks volumes of Kobe's character. He showed, in stellar fashion, that he could effectively lead his team to the NBA Title, and that you do not need a Shaq to win one. Period. Even though I hate the Lakers with a passion, Kobe is the man and will be the best player in the league heading into next year, and he will have his team poised to repeat!

So all the naysayers, haters, and critics of Kobe Bryant; your job is no more, your purpose has been served. Because any additional accolades and achievements that Bryant reaches will just be another kick in the groin to you because you people done nothing but spit venom towards the best basketball player in the world today. Now go find another victum because Kobe has risen to a level that you will never get to see!

I cannot believe you said James took the loss like a man, a man stops offers congratulations, and good luck, a man does not storm off the court like a little kid that had his candy taken from him, i defended him through out the playoffs, he is a dominate player, and with the right people, will win a title but not as long as he acts like a little kid that cannot get what he wants.

Kobe is still selfish? Were you watching the same Finals that I was? Orlando had absolutely no answer to Kobe. They were forced to double him up immediately after he recieved the ball, which created the offense for everyone else. I mean the dude put up the second greatest scoring and passing performance in the NBA finals with 32 points and 7.4 assists, with Jerry West being the only other person to average that. And this so called "selfish" player only scored like 4 points in that deciding run in game 5 of the finals. Arguing Tim Duncan's career championship numbers is also a stupid arguement as well. The two play completely different positions, and Duncan would obviously shoot a higher percentage cause he is in the post, as opposed to being a wing player shooting contested jumpers. As of right now though, I think the general consensus around the "experts" is that this title puts Kobe in the top ten of all time, and rightfully so.

Kobe proved nothing we didn't already know.  I never said Kobe couldn't win a title (obviously he already had 3), and I wouldn't be surprised if he wins more.  He's one of the greatest players ever.  He also continues to be selfish and put himself ahead of the team.  A truly great player passes the ball when he's shooting 43%, especially when Gasol's hitting 60% in the post and eating the Magic for lunch.  Lebron's the best player alive today, and it's really not that close.  The lifetime acheivement award for active players probably still belongs to Tim Duncan, who not only was the man on 4 championship teams but has better career numbers than Kobe. Kobe's probably the 2nd or 3rd best player in both categories, but he's obviously the best player on his team, a 4 time NBA champ, reigning finals MVP, and Hall of Fame lock.  And though he's probably not top 10 all-time yet, he's certainly top 20, and he could wind up even higher if he keeps playing at a high level.

spit venom towards the best basketball player in the world today. The best player in the world today is Lebron James. Regardless of whether Kobe Bryant won a title, it doesn't change the fact that he is not a good teammate, is a selfish individual, and is all about his image. LeBron James continues to put up great stats while playing the game right and making the right play every time. Kobe makes the play that the public wants to see him make. You are not judged by what you do when you win, but when you lose. LeBron James like a man took credit for the loss and vowed to be better next year. When Kobe was losing he was throwing his teammates under the bus, demanding to be traded, and blaming everyone but himself. Even this year after they won what was one of the thigs he said, "It feels good to be done with all those ridiculous claims, and you know what Im talking about." Speaking specifically about his inability to win without Shaq. Kobe will always be about himself. Will always put his place in history on the highest pedastle. Will always put himself before the team and that is why he is not a Top 10 player of all-time and never will be. He's a Dominique. Geroge Gervin. A extremely gifted and talented basketball player who will never get it.

The sad thing is critics will never come out and say they were wrong. Now they are gonna say we knew all along Kobe would win without Shaq. Even Shaq changed his tune once Kobe one. I still get sick when I think the Bulls could have had Kobe for Deng and a couple draft picks. Congrats to Kobe.
