I'm bored, let's talk music

While I love and appreciate most of the bands mentioned previously, I'm going to list some bands/artists that are slightly... younger haha :) They aren't really in order though, I could never choose. All you old guys should check them out if you don't know them, recommended songs are listed. I made it easy for you by putting links too!

1) Muse - Hysteria, Take a Bow, Starlight

2) Atmosphere - Painting, Always Coming Back Home to You

3) Daft Punk - Technologic, Crescendolls, Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

4) Talib Kweli - Get By, Hostile Gospel

5) Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies), Intervention, Neighborhood #1

6) Interpol - Slow Hands, Obstacle 1, anything off the album Our Love to Admire

7) Radiohead - Everything In It's Right Place, Kid A, Like Spinning Plates, Idioteque

8) Regina Spektor - Us, Blue Lips, she is kinda weird at times but it's fun

9) The Strokes - Under Control, Last Nite

10) Sigur Ros - Hoppipolla, Inni Mer Syngur Vitleysingur, Vid Spilum Endalaust

Of course there are many more bands I love, but we'll go with these. Tell me what you think if you listen to them.

I'm bored, let's talk music

It's been a while since I posted here and I was just wondering since everybody listed their top 11 what is their favorite songs from the bands they listed. I will try to go first.

Led Zeppelin - In My Time of Dying

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

The Beatles - Help

Queensryche - Roads to Madness

The Doors - The Soft Parade

Black Sabbath - N.I.B.
(voodoo by Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio might actually be my favorite sabbath song, but I chose a song with ozzy)

The Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the Devil

The Eagles - Wasted Time

Van Halen - Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love

Judas Priest - Blood Red Skies

AC/DC - She's Got Balls

This list could change and if i did this again next week I bet i'd have 4 or 5 different choices.

I'm bored, let's talk music

Well, Tool and Trivium started up around the same time.  Trivium is just less known, but it's a great metal band.  The lead singer is native american and has an incredible range on his vocals.  Check 'em on youtube.  Latest album was just released not too long ago.  Look up "Down From The Sky" and look for Trivium.  It has a music video to go along with it.

As for Pearl Jam, that's more of my brother influence on me.  Sublime too.  I saw both live because of him, and Sublime is one I treasure the most since I was only 13 y/o at the time, and I heard songs played by Brad that I have still never heard on any album.  They did so much improv and jammin, he was truely incredible.  Even the people that know his music, I'm sad to say this, really do not know the scope of his talent because they didn't have a chance to hear him live.  Almost makes me weep knowing that such a huge talent left this world so soon before it could really be displayed.  Hopefully this new guy Roman does a good job.  If you haven't heard, Sublime got back together with a new singer.  Check 'em out.

Mudvayne is awesome.

There is a lot of awesome bands out there, unfortunately the really really really talented ones seem to be less popular.

Tool is an excellent choice, I dont even know who Trivium are. Pearl Jam is an interesting choice they were pretty huge there for a couple years back in the early 90's. Honestly I knew a Molly back in the day as well but I dont want to get banned from the site so I wont go into it. I would also like to add to my list of just missed 11... Mudvayne...

I agree Journey is a great choice, I seen them in 1986 still one of the best shows i've ever been to. I did like a couple Loverboy tunes but I think most guys back then didnt like to admit they liked Loverboy. LOL.... I would like to also add The Black Crowes to my just missed the top 11 group. Their first two albums were very good, and also the Red Hot Chili Peppers, very underated in my opinion.

Journey is a good choice. Their earlier stuff is fantastic. I was lucky enough to see them in '82 or '83. Loverboy is underated. There were called a one hit wonder on VH1 or some such thing. Bzzzzzt, wrong answer.
