KG makes Big Baby cry (UPDATE)

I'm watching the Celtics blow out the Blazers on TV, and if you're not, well, I'm sorry. You missed Kevin Garnett making one of his teammates cry.

With about six minutes left, and the Celtics' 25-point lead trimmed to 13 with the subs on the floor, Garnett gathered his teammates in the huddle during a timeout and reamed them out. It must have been some tough, tough language -- especially the invective dirtected toward Glen Davis, who angrily broke away from the huddle and sat down at the end of the bench.

Garnett and the other starters had to go back on the floor to finish the job. As the timeout wound down, the cameras showed Davis on the bench, shouting in Garnett's direction and waving a white towel. That gesture was appropriate, because it appeared that Davis was -- gulp -- crying.

Now we know why they call him Big Baby.

Now we know how much KG wants to win another championship.

While Garnett was on the floor closing out the game, Davis sat on the bench with a white towel on his head. At one point, while KG appeared to motion toward the bench and say, "I'm all right. I got it."

Wow.

KG makes Big Baby cry (UPDATE)

Yea I am also unsure of what your point is here......yes he had a temper tantrum, and yes everyone saw it but maybe it was justified (if a grown, massive man crying on national tv can ever be justified) by whatever Garnett said to him.

Also his big baby nickname is not because he is a cry baby, a girlfriend gave him the nickname as they have mentioned numerous times on Celtics broadcast.  Does CBS pay you?  Your right up there in the list of great CBS writers next to Doyle.

KG makes Big Baby cry (UPDATE)

The first time Ken Berger writes some breaking news or something of real substance for CBS.Sportsline will be his first.

And the second time will be his second. You're brilliant! You are busting on someone for being a bad writer? What a ridiculous sentence this is. Do you mean "The NEXT time Ken Berger..."? If you are going to try and discredit someone, make sure you don't make a fool of yourself in the process!

KG makes Big Baby cry (UPDATE)

Doc Rivers better keep an eye on Davis because he's already on medication for some kind of personality problem that he was going through before college an that added to the stress that he's going through with his mother battling a drug problem can't be good for him and his career!

KG makes Big Baby cry (UPDATE)

The Black Mamba wrote: His point is that Big Baby is a big softie and cant handle pressure!!! KG has that fear and hatred of losing. Thats a champion!!

Good point!  If I were Kevin Garnett and am so hungry to win another championship, I would be tough on some teammates, who are too soft.  As my recall, it was the same thing that Kobe Bryant criticized Andrew Bynum for lacks of his aggression and defense almost 2 seasons ago.  That happened before last season began.  In wake of Kobe's harsh criticism, Bynum took his lessons with his personal trainer and has played much better.  Garnett has the right to criticize some of his teammates when he sees them playing very poor or too soft.  Although I'm not a big fan of Garnett, I would still be in his shoes as if I were on the defending champion team of any kind.  That's exactly what the champions are for.

KG makes Big Baby cry (UPDATE)

I think the point is Garnett is the most intense player in the NBA, Big Baby needed a reality check, and the result is pretty funny to want.  Yea you can definitely empathize with the situation, but the point of the article was (I think) to show that there are still some basketball players who care about playing hard as a team

Thank you smokingguns- I was completely unaware that the first time he wrote about something important would be his first.  Thank you for your great wisdom.  That statement, it really changed my whole outlook on life, and now, when I need advice, you will be the first person I turn to.

Big deal Berger. What's your point? Trying to embarrass an emotional player like Glen Davis? The first time Ken Berger writes some breaking news or something of real substance for CBS.Sportsline will be his first.
