Grant Hill for J.J. Redick? (UPDATE)

Dime brings us word of a trade rumor floated by the Orlando Sentinel: J.J. Redick from the Magic to the Suns for Grant Hill.

Brian Schmitz cites "impeccable sources" who say Hill is interested in reuniting with his former team, and that Redick wouldn't mind a fresh start in Phoenix. Schmitz is good, so this one is worth checking out. No word on whether Coach K would be thrown in on the Phoenix end in the Duke-for-Duke swap.

Trade rumors are fun, but we try to deal in reality -- trades that are beyond the point of mere inquiries and actually have a chance of happening -- here at the BergerSphere. So if this rumor rises to that level, you'll be the first to know.

UPDATE: An update from a source familiar with both teams' situations -- a source who doesn't peddle trade rumors irresponsibly -- handicapped this one as "possible. Both want out from their respective teams."

Grant Hill for J.J. Redick? (UPDATE)

To clarify my response was to the guy who said Nash was overhyped and they should get Starbury and that he should be on ESPN

Grant Hill for J.J. Redick? (UPDATE)

If you actually believe everything you said, you shouldn't be on ESPN, you should be put in a mental institution!

Grant Hill for J.J. Redick? (UPDATE)

Hill is no longer a superstar, but he is a solid reserve.  Much better than Reddick.  He just beat Orlando the other night, maybe that's why we're seeing all the hate.  Hope the Suns look for a better deal.

Grant Hill for J.J. Redick? (UPDATE)

The trade for Hill is a bad one, everyony knows it. Redick is young, of course his defence is bad. The good news is he went to Duke and he can be taught. The fountain of youth is not in Orlando, you can't teach young. The answer, Hill is done.

Grant Hill for J.J. Redick? (UPDATE)

This is like trading 3 pennies for 29 grains of salt.

Who cares either way?  Both guys are virtually worthless at this point in their career.

JJ Redick is a first round bust who is essentially a 3-point specialist and Grant Hill is a has-been.

Grant Hill for J.J. Redick? (UPDATE)

I really see the Magic & Suns really making a deal.  Grant Hill for J.J. Riddick is a pretty even trade.  Grant hill bring some experience to a fairly young Magic team and the suns grab a pure shooter in Riddick.  It will hopefully give JJ a breakout season and grant hill can compete with the contenders in the east in the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics.

Grant Hill for J.J. Redick? (UPDATE)

Wait a minute.  Grant Hill takes the Magic for about 90 Mil, then doesn't have enough integrity to stay because he wants to latch (leech) onto a team that he thinks is going to win a championship (I know he was kicking himself after Boston made their moves).  Now that it's apparent that this Phoenix team isn't going to win anything, he wants to go back to Orlando which has a good young team capable of making some noise in the East...and he was suppose to "Save Sports".  He's just like the rest of the clowns.

Grant Hill for J.J. Redick? (UPDATE)

exactly. they gotta get at least a 2nd rounder thrown in or something. i know hill is at the end of his career but redick is absolutely worthless.  he's basically a white mateen cleaves, can dominate college and that's it.

Grant Hill for J.J. Redick?

Redick has done nothing, even with his chance to start.  Plus he plays no D.  This one makes no sense at all for the Suns.
