Felton to Warriors?

According to the Charlotte Observer, the Warriors are interested in trading for Charlotte point guard Ray Felton, whose future with the Bobcats has been clouded by the performance of rookie D.J. Augustin.

The scenario makes sense on several levels, and I am checking with sources to determine the likelihood of a deal that would send Felton to Golden State for a package including either Anthony Randolph or Brandan Wright.

The Bobcats opted not to extend Felton's contract last summer after selecting Augustin ninth overall, and Felton could leave as a restricted free agent if Charlotte opts not to match potentially lucrative offer sheets.

Golden State is known to be high on Wright, whom the Bobcats drafted on the Warriors' behalf to complete a draft-day trade sending Jason Richardson to Charlotte. Felton would be a good fit in the Warriors' backcourt because he would free up Monta Ellis, once he returns from an ankle injury sustained in an offseason moped accident, to be a scorer as the shooting guard. Stay tuned.

Felton to Warriors?

As a Bobcats fan, I feel like getting a quality young forward like Wright or Randolph who is under contract for a few years would be a GREAT deal for the Bobbies. After all the talk that Augustin would only be a bench player in the NBA, he's clearly ready to be our starter for years to come. He already is a more efficient scorer and runs the offense better as a rookie than Felton does as a four-year vet.

Felton to Warriors?

Both teams have been mismanaged, the Warriors for a long time and recently the Bobcats. Jordan was a great player but has no clue on what he is doing. Maybe he will trade for Kwame???? Good luck to you fans...both teams suck.

Do they really have 10 shooting guards? Sheesh! Then they better go get some rebounders and some point guards. I heard that this year was going to be a loss cause since Ellis got hurt, but I never expected the team to be this bad. Oh well. There is always next year.

Felton to Warriors?

The Warriors lack inside presence and rebounding/defensive skills and they are willing to trade one of the few bigmen they have while still carrying 10 shooting guards to get another guard?!

Felton to Warriors?

the bobcats never cease to amaze me. trade wright for richardson. trade richardson one season later for diaw. then trade felton to get wright back. does anyone think things through longer than two minutes for this club? it's like there is no plan whatsoever for the future. just jumping all over the place. what a bunch of clowns. well done again jordan.

Felton to Warriors?

I don't think Felton has been that big of a disappointment.  Maybe your expectations were a    little to high for him.  Maybe he shouldn't have been the 5th pick, I think that's what he was, but he was definitely a first rounder.  His career is starting to blossom.  He improved last season, and so far this year had improved upon last year.  I think his future is bright.  Sean May on the other hand definitely is a HUGE disappointment.

Felton to Warriors?

Let's be honest...Felton has been a huge disappointment from the start.  There's a tremendous separation between he and the other draft-day point guards (Williams/Paul) and the franchise has suffered because of it.  Unfortunately, the Bobcats organization drafted with their hearts (i.e. Felton and May) and have had little in return.  Trading Felton at this point is probably the right thing to do but neither of those players (Randolph/Wright) will do much to improve this team.  I say roll the dice and trade for a first round draft pick.  GS will be in the lottery as will Charlotte which will essentially double your chances for a number 1.
