Kobe predicts quadruple-double for LeBron

A prediction worth reading, especially if your name is LeBron James.

As I followed Kobe Bryant down a narrow corridor leading to the exits after his Madison Square Garden-record 61 points Monday night,  someone asked Bryant, "How many points do you think LeBron's gonna try to score?" James, the last visiting player to score 50 at MSG before Bryant's outburst, visits the Garden Wednesday night. The bar has been set pretty high.

"I don't know," Bryant said. "He’s not a natural scorer, though. He’s more of a facilitator."

"I know, but he sees you score 61 at the Garden?" the fan said. "Come on."

"That would be my inclination," Bryant said. "But he’s more the passing type. He might come in here and have a quadruple-double though. He might have 33, 15, 12, and 10 steals or something."

Not a bad prediction. Last March, LeBron fell two rebounds shy of a rare 50-point triple-double -- 50 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds. So there you have it, LeBron. Your turn on Wednesday.

Kobe predicts quadruple-double for LeBron

Don't forget about CP3 who has been 3 steals away from a quad-double TWICE this season!

Perhaps the Knicks could double team Lebron tonight. I think Mike is a smart guy and knows how to learn from mistakes.

Go Knicks.

Kobe predicts quadruple-double for LeBron

While Durant is scoring 24.8 a game, he is only averaging 6.6 reb, 2.7 ast, 1.2 stl, .82 blocks.   I don't see him ever snagging one.  Rondo is more plausible as he averages only a board less as a pt guard, over twice as many assists and 1.7 stls.  Once again, these stats don't lead to a quadruple double.  If these stats warranted consideration for a possible quadruple double then throw in Brandon Roy, Devin Harris, Kobe, Wade, even someone like Rodney Stuckey.  A triple double for all these people is likely before their careers are over if they dont already have one but quadruple double it wont be seen unless it itself is a quadruple overtime game or something.

Kobe predicts quadruple-double for LeBron

I think that Kobe has serious respect for Lebron but we all know that is not going to happen.  As Kobe pointed out, Lebron is a great scorer but he has such a well rounded game it would be hard for him to do all these things in one game especially nowadays.  Lebron is one of only two people that could pull of the quadruple double and thats Chris Paul.  However, the "new look" Cavs have alot more options now and Lebron has been getting plenty of rest when the Cavs are handling business and I see the Knicks struggling against the Cavs D early and run away with it.  Plausible with him but an iota of possibility.
