Raptors signing Jarrett Jack to offer sheet

LAS VEGAS -- The Toronto Raptors are on the verge of signing Pacers restricted free agent Jarrett Jack to an offer sheet, CBSSports.com has learned.

Terms of the deal aren't yet apparent, but Jack, 25, would be a younger, faster replacement for Anthony Parker, who has agreed to a two-year deal with Cleveland. As a versatile combo guard, Jack would back up point guard Jose Calderon and also see time at the scoring guard spot. Once Jack signs the offer sheet, the Pacers have seven days to match.

But he also drafted him in the 2nd round....so we'll see how that goes.

Bird doesn't want to do that. He has already said that he would match any off to get Jack back, and said he is a great asset to the team. Don't kid yourself, if he wanted to let Ford run the show, he wouldn't have drafted another PG in the second round in Price.

Jarret Jack plays point, Dahntay Jones plays either the 2 or the 3. Not quite a replacement, but I think Jack is a very replacable player.

Except they already signed a black player to replace him - Dahntay Jones. Pay attention.

If Indiana matched this deal it'd put them over the luxury tax most likely. The Raptors may be overpaying a bit but as a fan i'd love a guy like Jarret Jack in Toronto.

I think the pacers SHOULD match the offer sheet from Raptors because Jack is a fairly solid player. However, if they do not match, it may not be very bad for the pacers because that would make T.J. Ford the starting point guard and there is speculation of Brandon Rush being the starting two guard, with Danny Granger at the 3.

That would be be the safe bet to make sure that there is no chance of Bird matching. Well it looks like Colangelo is doing what he said he would do...He said he wanted a G( Jack) a G/F( Delfino???)  and a Big man( Rasho) Knock on wood or my head which ever sems harder at this point but I really do not see any issue in my eyes as a Raptor Fan with adding those 3 to thre fold AND adding someone Bosh knows may just help in his dsecision to extend.  We will see...

there's NO WAY Bird will match something that high..... anything over 3.5 - 4 mil will push them over the luxury tax and they already said that they were definitely not willing to do that.  the raps offered 5 mil...... he's gone.
