No punishment for Rondo, Paul

After reviewing the altercation between Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul during and after Sunday's game in Boston between the Celtics and Hornets, the NBA decided not to take disciplinary action against either player.

Neither point guard will receive any type of fine or suspension for the fracas, which boiled over after Rondo incensed Paul by reportedly chiding him that he's won a championship and Paul never will. Earlier in the game, won by the Celtics 97-87, each player received a technical foul for a confrontation under the basket. After the final buzzer, the players exchanged words and had to be separated as the teams left the floor. Paul unsuccessfully tried to enter the Celtics' locker room to continue the discussion, and Hornets coach Byron Scott said he overheard Paul saying, "He's going to respect me as a man."

The Celtics are off to a 6-0 start, while the Hornets are struggling out of the gate with a 2-3 record that has only intensified Paul's frustration.

To all the people that say that Rondo was only succesfull because of the people around him, show me another PG that averaged a triple double in the playoffs (Without Keving Garnett).

Are you serious? You really dont think that Rondo helped them in the 2008 playoffs? Hes such and underrated player because hes overshadowed by the big 3. He deffinatley helped them in 2008. No question.

"Rondo's a punk."

Whatever.  Chris Paul is my favorite player not in green, but he needs to learn to control his emotions.  Guys talk trash all the time.  He needs to act like a pro and not let it distract him.  Otherwise, it's going to affect his team in a negative way.  I'm not saying Rondo had to say what he said, but it's just words.

rondo is top 5 pg in the peague and going to be a hall of famer just just cousyAnd you are calling someone an idiot. Rondo is definitely the best point guard on his own team. Top 5 in the league? to quote Ochocinco, "Please child".

Comparing a football's quarterback with a basketball's point guard is completely insane, simply because there are not that many stand out point guards in the NBA right now. Most leaders on the team sit at the position of SG/SF. Paul Pierce definitely runs that offense, not Rondo. The Celtics could easily replace Rondo, and STILL be a high caliber team. It's easy to look good when you're surrounded by future hall of famers.

Chris Paul came to a poor team and turned it completely around BY HIMSELF. Rondo came to a poor team, along with 3 future HOF'ers...and he got credit for helping to turn it around. Rondo deserves no respect because he got carried into a championship ring.

If you weight 170 and played in any professional sport that has physical contact, you'd get tossed, too. AI is the same way...poor example. Poor post.

Rondo did win a title, but it wasn't because of him, any point guard could be on the floor with those guys and win, Webb, Bogues, Blaylock, any poiint guard. To disrespect Chris Paul the best point guard on the planet is just stupid. He should be suspended just for thinking he's better than Paul. By the way Rondo, you will never win a gold medal, which is alot harder to attain than an NBA championship.
