Sweet 16: Best Rock Album of the 80's

Hey, CRocks...Paradise Theater was released in 1981, the same year as  4 . 1983 saw the ralease of the groundbreaking, stunning, absolute trash known as Kilroy Was Here .

Sweet 16: Best Rock Album of the 80's

Alpha Region:

5.   Love at First Sting   '84 - Scorpions

This is more a vote against G&R than for the Scorpions

2.   Pyromania   '83 - Def Leppard

This is like voting for Ace Ventura vs Dumb & Dumber for me

Delta Region:

1.   Joshua Tree   '87 - U2

The most pretentious political band in history vs the most pretentious prog rock band. Gotta go U2.

7.   4   '81 - Foreigner

Never liked Styx. Not a great fan of Foreigner, but I wore out at least one 8-track of this album in my car.

Beta Region:

1.   Back in Black   '80 - AC/DC

Another lesser of two evils, but this is probably AC/DC's best and they can even make someone like me want to listen occasionally.

3.   Synchronicity   '83 - The Police

This one was easy. Anyone who has ever been divorced should consider side 2 of Synchronicity great music

Charlie Region:

1.   The Wall   '79(Dec) - Pink Floyd

No fan of the CRUE, so even a mediocre effort by the FLOYD is an easy pick for me.

3.   Born in the USA   '84 - Bruce Springsteen

Bruce beats Rush every time for me.

Sweet 16: Best Rock Album of the 80's

Alpha Region:

1.   Appetite for Destruction   '87 - Gun n' Roses

Blackout was a better Scorpions album.

2.   Pyromania   '83 - Def Leppard

I got something to say....

Its better to burn out...

Then fade away.......

Delta Region:

1.   Joshua Tree   '87 - U2

By far, the best of the best. Not even close for me.

7.   4   '81 - Foreigner

Have you listened to Styx lately? Lou Graham >> Dennis DeYoung

Beta Region:

1.   Back in Black   '80 - AC/DC

Talk about a a tough choice. Either of these albums could have come out of B.

2.   1984   '84 - Van Halen

Synchronicity is pop. The only knock I have about 1984 is that Eddy was in love with his synth.

Charlie Region:

1.   The Wall   '79(Dec) - Pink Floyd

Glad to see you included this in the 80s. Comfortably Numb >> The Whole of Shout at The Devil

2.   Moving Pictures   '83 - Rush

A tough one for me. In the end, there were too many singles released from Born in the USA, and people are too stupid to see the irony in using the title track as a xenophobic anthem.
