Griffey Comes Home, Dawgs Stare Down Bruins

Posted on: February 19, 2009 1:17 am

Ken Griffey Jr, formerly of the Atlanta Braves, will come back to the Seattle Mariners for the 2009 season. The Mariners will have their first full-team workout on February 18.

The University of Washington Huskies are looking to prove themselves against the University of California-Los Angeles Bruins. The Huskies currently have a 1.5 game lead over the Bruins in the Pac-10 standings, and have already defeated them this season at Hec-Ed. The game starts at 8:00 PM and will be televised on FSN Northwest and in other regions.

The Washington State University Cougars look to improve their Pac-10 record against University of Southern California Trojans tomorrow. That game begins at 7:30 PM and will be on the radio in some regions of Washington. Check the Seattle Times or Seattle P-I for details.

The Gonzaga University Bulldogs are playing Loyola-Marymount tomorrow at 6:00. That game may or may not be on FSN Northwest. Check your local listings.

I'm excited to have Junior back.  I'v heard lot's of tickets have already been sold since he picked us, so that's good.  And even though he's past his prime, he's probably going to be one of our best hitters.  Tough game for the dawgs last night, they just weren't very sharp.  USC will be another interesting game I think.

Mariners made it happen now the Dawgs have to make it happen.  That would be so sweet to win the Pac-10 outright.
