We did this last year (Dan reminded me earlier today) so I was wondering if anyone wanted to do it again. Basically, we’ll follow a modified version of the true process for the selection committee. First, we’ll select the at large teams. Them, we’ll seed them. Finally, we’ll place them in our bracket. If you’re interested, just let me know. There are 10 members of the actual selection committee so I’m hoping to get at least 10 people.
It should be a pretty simple process: I’ll do all of the math… you just give me your opinion! It’s a good opportunity to learn the Principles and Procedures for Establishing the Bracket if you’re not familiar with them already. I’m hoping to inspire a few new “bracketologists” to share their opinions with us. It should also be a good way to boost your “Reputation” on the boards by picking up some participation points.
One rule – You’ve got to participate! I’ll try to post simple instructions every day and you’ll have 12 - 24 hours to respond. If you miss a day or two, no big deal (we’ve all got other things to do)… it’s just important that we follow a schedule because a lot can change in the course of a day / week. Like last year, we’ll allow casual visitors to vote along with us as long as they appear to have “objective” opinions.
If we can pull it off, we’ll create our first mock bracket over the next week and a half. Then, we’ll get another one started to coincide with Selection Sunday. We’ll be able to see how well we do against the real committee. Once I see if there is any interest, I’ll create a Group for all of us to join and we’ll take it from there…
