I will never forger Pat Tillman

I know this happened awhile ago but I was looking through some old Sports Illustrated issues I had in storage and I ran across the one with Tillman on the front shortly after he died. I got to thinking you know 10 or 20 years from now when I tell my grandkids about the decade between 2000-2010 I was thinking what good could I tell them? We have the steroid era in baseball, refs betting on basketball games, and NFL players shooting themselves in the leg or getting DUIs almost every week but then I remembered Pat Tillman. The guy walked away from money, fame, and the sport he loved to go fight for our freedom after 9/11. The man saw his country attacked and he went and faced our darkest fears. So before I tell them about a game winning catch or a goal-line stand that won the game for one of the teams I root for I will tell them the story of Pat Tillman- A True American Hero who went and laid his life down for his country. R.I.P Mr. Pat Tillman

I know this was posted a couple of years ago, but I came across it today when I visited Titan's page. Couldn't have been more appropriate since it's MEmorial Day.

I will never forger Pat Tillman

This is an awesome post.I still have that same issue of SI.I  bought it in a store when I saw him on the cover. He was a true hero.I got out of the millitary shortly after his death.I will have to tell you it took someone very special to walk away from what he had and go and serve our country.Just from that act alone all athletes and politicians could and should learn something from him.

I will never forger Pat Tillman

I'm proud to have served in the US Army ('88-'95), and I am even more proud to call Pat my "Brother." I switch avatars to his  on the anniversary of his death, Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July, Veterans Day, and his birthday. I was also given one of his replica jerseys (from his foundation and NFL shop) a few years ago as a birthday gift by my wife and proudly wear it on those same days (weekends) as well.

I will never forger Pat Tillman

Good Blog entry, Pat Tillman was a true hero in every sense of the word, he lived a life of honor and sacrifice, and is an example of a true patriot. It is a shame the government and military could not have shown as much honor, and told his parents the truth about his death. Much respect to Pat and the Tillman family, respect to all men and women who sacrifice for our country, and to the families they leave behind!
