The Best MLB Pitcher Today

Its hard to argue against Tim Lincecum.  He is putting up such amazing numbers and is in his 3rd year in the Majors.  He earned his first(of many) Cy Young awards last season after leading MLB in strikeouts and BA against.  He picked up his 10th win of the season today in his final start before the All-Star Break.  He has 149 K's and an ubelievable ERA of just 2.33 with 127.2 innings logged thus far in the season.  Other contenders for the best pitcher in baseball are Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners, Roy Halladay of the Toronto Blue Jays, and Dan Haren of the Arizona Diamond Backs, all of which have demonstrated that everytime they pick up a baseball, they can dominate the entire game.  Lincecum, aka "The Freak", is in well on his way to picking up his second straight Cy Young.

The Best MLB Pitcher Today

When I watch him pitch its like I know a strikeouts coming. Tim Linecum should be the Cy Young and maybe Jason Marquis is runner up. You can argue that Roy Halladay and Johan Santana could be the best pitchers but Tim Linecum is pitching as good as them and he's may not be in his prime. Felix Hernadez and Tim Linecum are only going to get better so maybe it will be Felix Hernadez but Felix started early. It is clearly Tim Linecum.

Tim is the hottest pitcher in baseball. As of today I would take him to go out on the mound for me. But Dan Haren has a better E.R.A, W.H.I.P & a better walks per 9 innings ratio. So I would say Dan for this year and the Cy Young Award. Some people say Roy Halladay but the facts are hes the best pitcher of the decade. NOT TODAY. And Zack Greinke was the best pitcher until he had that one awful outing and Lincecum nor Haren have had a miserable outing this year.

The best pitcher in the majors has to be Lincecum. While you can make strong cases for Halladay and Haren, Tim is just better. Haren is a great pitcher, one that I wish my Cardinals never traded away, but look at his W-L record. I know that he can't totally control that, but if you have to go out and be the one to shut down a team in a must win situation, Tim is your guy. The way the ball comes out of his hand and the movement he gets on all his pitches is astounding. Halladay and Haren get outs, but Tim makes a lot of guys look like fools. Plus, he won the CY Young last year pitching for an absolutely horrible SF team. He's still young and I cant wait to see what he does the rest of his career

The Best MLB Pitcher Today

If today means today, this season, you would have say Lincecum. The numbers are just about off the charts and he is playing on a very mediocre team at best.Over a short period of time, I would go with Halladay. The man is a bulldog. 7 plus innings every time out is unheard of today, yet he keeps doing it.He always keeps his team in the game and definately knows how to win. Flip a coin, which ever side you choose you are going to be a winner in a big way...

deffently a tossup between lincecum and harden for now. san fran is a better team backing lincecum but time will tell still months to go and san fran does have a good shot at makeing the playoffs then we will really see how good he is.

Tiny Tim is the best and I would give him the ball before anyone else in baseball at this time...  Tacklebox
