All-Star Snub... Robinson Cano

So here's the thing, Robinson Cano has been the catalyst for the Yankees along with Mark Teixeira.  He is hitting above .300 and his more RBI's and HR's than Dustin Pedroia, who was voted by the fans as the starter for 2B.  I am not saying that Pedroia isn't having an All-Star year, along with Aaron Hill for that matter, but Cano didn't even get a roster spot.  Then, Carlos Pena gets chosen to replace Pedroia for the game because he will not be able to participate.  This leaves the AL Roster with one true second basemen and Cano sitting back in New York.  He had a bad year last year and was forgotten, but now he is in the top 10 in the AL for hits and average.  He has jumped all the way up to 5th in the batting order in the Bronx, a run-producing slot.  It saddens me to think that most of these voters and sports writers give him the broom sweep under the rug.  And, on a final note I find it widely hilarious that whoever decided that Pena should get the replacement spot obviously doesn't like to pay attention to his batting average which sits currently at .230!!!!!
Unbelievable....

P.S. He is also leading the AL in strikeouts but since he has 24 HR's, he is an All-Star

Pedroia made it b/c he plays for the Sox.  Hill and Kinsler should've been the all star 2nd baseman.  And why is Chone Figgins gettnig to replace Eva Longoria?  Joe Maddon is needs to take off his uber gay glasses and shove them in his @ss.

All-Star Snub... Robinson Cano

There has never been a Yankee player snubbed from an all star game in the history of the all-star game. Give me a break! That's just a stupid comment.

Kinsler, Hill & Cano should be the second basemen representing the American league.  Pedroia wasn't deserving in the 1st place (not this year anyways).

All-Star Snub... Robinson Cano

As a Yankees season ticket holder for 6 years now... and loving the Yankees forever (while not being obnoxious, etc)... Cano is in no way an All-Star this year.  Stats or not - he should not be there.

  • Please elaborate more on Jeter getting in every year regardless if hes struggling or not..............the lowest Jeter has EVER hit in a season is .291............lowest obp percentage ever was .362..................fewest runs scored ever in a season was 90............and not to mention the guy is a career .424 hitter with runners in scoring position. He may not flash monster home runs and continuous 100 RBI seasons but he is clearly one of the elite clutch hitters in the game....................I agree that Cano had all Star Worthy numbers this year but he should be behind Hill and Kinsler. In my opinion Pedroia should of been fourth. Regardless........dont bash on Jeter being there because of his name......................the guy earns his spot every year and is a presence that any club..................including BOSTON would take in a heartbeat!!!

I agree, I am a Red Sox fan and Cano definitely deserved to get a spot on the roster. And Pena replacing Pedroia?? What about Kinsler who finished second in the Final Vote? Personally I see Kinsler should get more love than Cano but that is just my opinion.

Cano deserved it. The only thing is the all star game is for the fans. I think Cano will make plenty of all star games in the future and even end up with a few batting titles.

Cano is a hack.  Whats this?  Having a solid year hitting an a line up all protected?  He dogs running out infield singles, has an average glove and was terrible last year so no one even knows who he is.  He's that other guy that is not batting when a star is not up.

Thats exactly why no all-star game for 'Cano't.  Play on a team full of over-paid free agent acquired all stars and be overshadowed.  He is not that good anyway.

I almost forgot he was still playing.  Where is the the Yankees?  I remember someone with  asimilar name losing 8 games to the Red Sox.

See?

No one cares aboue Cano.  He plays on a team where everyone makes over $15 million a year and is always protected in the line-up.  He would be an average to a nobody on every other team in the league.  He is batting well this year?  So what.
