I give the guy respect for admitting he screwed up.  So what if he lied to Katie Couric.  She's annoying.  Is he still doing steroids?  I really don't care at this point.  Sports are rampant with steroids.

I bet you there is NOT ONE NFL player who has not used steroids at some point.  Anybody with a shred of common sense knows that it is not natural to be 6-5, 260 lbs, and runs a 4.4 40 yard-dash.  Let's get real people.  Have you ever watched the classic games on NFL network?  Today's lady swimmers look bigger than those guys.  What is the reason?  Did our society all of a sudden evolve that quick that people get that much bigger, stronger, faster?  Hell no.

If that were the case, we'd all be running 4.4 40 yard dashes.  Obviously, there is a missing ingredient, and that is all the supplements, both legal and illegal.  Frankly, I think these guys are screwing up by taking this stuff.  But who am I to judge some kid from Venezuela whose picture was on the back of a milk carton and wanted a way out?  I mean seriously how can you blame these guys.  Their whole family is sitting back home - all living in a shack somewhere and they got a chance to get EVERYBODY out.   How can you blame them?

I just get annoyed that only the great players are taking the fall for this.  There are plenty of other guys taking this stuff, trust me.

What an idiot. He was a gold glove winner and other stuff. People only do things like that because they're greey for more. Greedy to be better, faster, stronger, and to hit more homers. like Roger Clemens, it doesn't seem right: A 40 year old guy throwing 90 m.p.h. people should be able to point out these things. Also like Barry Bonds, I don't think his home run record matters because he cheated.

I understand where you're coming from. Steroids is (or was) probably rampant in all other sports, not just baseball. Football players always seem to get a pass, even after they are caught (see Merriman, Peppers, etc). Hell, we don't even utter a word about possible steroid use in the NBA.

The thing about baseball is we find the game pure in nature. Having athletic ability isn't a must like in football and basketball. When we see famous players getting nailed for taking ILLEGAL, UNNATURAL drugs to enhance their performance or recover from injuries...our feelings get hurt. The game feels less pure.

Its sad how the prospective Bonds de-throner is now linked to steroids. I think its now safe to say at least half the players were using if a high profile player like Rodriguez was dumb enough to. NFL its hard to say, but they've had testing for 15+ years, so I doubt every one has used like you say (but you were probably exaggerating).

The bottom line...in the end you can't say "how can you blame them?" Just because they can take PEDs to gain an edge for money doesn't mean they should do it. The fact that none of these guys fess up on their own shows they KNOW what they are doing is wrong when they use these drugs.

It sucks because we as masculine beings will always follow sports. All we can hope for is a clean game and a level playing field. It looks like we should be losing hope.
