NFL Mock Draft 5.0: With Eugene Monroe

Thank you for the comments from anyone who has already posted. Just wanted to explain why Brandon Pettigrew was taken at the number 11th pick. Yes, it does seem like a reach, which it is, and is why he was put there. He fits a huge need for the Buffalo Bills, and he is a reach; which every NFL Draft has.

NFL Mock Draft 5.0: With Eugene Monroe

XWeapon, sure as an Eagles' fan, you follow them closer, and know more about the Philadelphia Eagles than I do. So I will remember that the Eagles do not need a DT with the 28th Overall pick. From your point of view, sure the pick did look stupid, and it probably is, but not everybody keeps track of the Eagles as well as a Eagles' fan would. Did know the Eagles' DT situation. The name Leonard Weaver means nothing to me, don't know that much about Mike Patterson, have not heard that much of Bunkley since he was drafted in the 2006 NFL Draft, and thought that the Eagles moved Dan Klecko to FB. Was in a hurry to get this draft done, so did not bother to see what the Eagles needed, and did not need. Will remember, next time, that Peria Jerry does not have a place on the Eagles' roster. Until it happens, the entire draft is unpredictable (Kerry Kolbs), and noones picks are stupid.

Peria Jerry at #28 for the Eagles, why?  They have 2 #1 picks invested in starters Mike Patterson and Broderick Bunkley and are already both good and still on the rise.  They spent a 2nd round pick last year on Trevor Laws who is our #3 tackle.  Dan Klecko moves back to DT with the signing of Leonard Weaver, so are you saying we are going to spend a 1st round pick on a guy battling to be the #4 DT?  Thats just stupid.

I agree with the Cincinnati Bengals not selecting B.J. Raji, now, but at the time when the Bengals' pick came up on Monday; the Tank Johnson deal had not been done yet.

I think your draft is average as I see a few potential trades happening for teams in need of a QB. In terms of the #6 pick for the Bengals, I must think they go a different way after signing DT Tank Johnson on Tuesday. I personally have them going with an upgrade to the O-Line to protect Carson Palmer. Wouldn't put it past em' to jump on Crabtree to beef up their receiving crew.

I also agree  with the above post that Brandon Pettigrew will not go as high as #11. I could see him slide down to the #24 spot to the Falcons to give Matt Ryan the blocking TE with good hands as another weapon on the offense.

In regard to the Denver Broncos' first round selection, I seriously doubt they go quarterback with that selection. There are too many needs on the defensive side of the ball. In addition, Josh McDaniels has proven capable in tutoring quarterbacks to fit his system. Denver will likely select a quarterback on the second day to groom behind Kyle Orton.

I also thing Brandon Pettigrew isn't good enough to be selected as high as 11th overall. Buffalo has glaring needs in their linebacker corps, and they basically have the first crack at any linebacker not named Aaron Curry.

Other than that, you have an interesting mock here. I'd be curious to see how things play out!
