All I have to say is WOW. We had upsets and tie breakers and some great comments. Really great stuff by all of you. I need to apologize for one small error on my part, I should have named it differently, maybe it should have been Most Memorable Sports Moments. Thus the tragic events that touched lives would have had a place, for this I am sorry.

Okay so on to the round of 16. Please make sure to vote on the tie breaker as it has had to be used a few times in the last two rounds. As always thank you for taking part and I hope you enjoy it.

'The Play', Cal 'Bezerkeley'.

The Bay Area's East Bay has experienced perhaps the two greatest football plays of all time.

Certainly, number 1 is 'The Play' as the Cal Bears defeat the Stanford Indians (Indians at that time) in a play that is beyond comprehension.

The Oakland Raiders had a heartbreak moment as they lost the 1972 playoff game in Pittsburgh in a game that was described as the 'Immaculate Reception'.

I am a huge Raider fan, but must say that the refs. called it correctly as Franco Harris picked the ball off the turf to end a great playoff encounter that launched Terry Bradshaw, Chuck Noll and company to an eventual 4 Superbowls.

The HErshey game was a sponsor game, yes I know way before big name sponsor bought up sports, the folks at Hershey were trying to get a pro team and thought if they put up some cash in sponsorship it might help. That is the inside stry, plain and simple.Wilt even got a little bonus for playing in the game.
