Miracle on Ice was a huge shocker, even though Aaron's 715 was fantastic we all knew he would eventually do it.

Maybe if l had been around in Lou's days it would mean a little more to me but l grew up with Wilt and his epic battle's with Russell.

The Immaculate Reception hands down.

Tie breaker; Ricky Henderson.  Sorry about that.  I was having a senior and a blonde moment at the same time.  It's a devasting combination.  Duh.

Greatest Sports moments in history. FINAL FOUR

Not quite "Sophie's Choice", but now I have to send off some very fond favorites, so this one hurts, iwok.  But let's get to it.

1) The Miracle on Ice  On the whole, this one had the more profound and lasting effect on sports worldwide.  Poor Hank was passed by the druggies and MLB didn't care enough to keep him the greatest in the record books.
VS
7) Henry Aaron hits 715

3) Lou Gehrig's farewell speech Both of these events are classic, historical, immortal.  But everyone remembers seeing parts of Gehrig's speech and he even impacted medicine by having his disease named for him.  People know Wilt scored 100, but they don't remember when - or even the teams who were involved.  Sad, but that is why Gehrig's speech is spritual and and Wilt's feat is factual.  In those few ironic words about being the luckiest man on the face of the Earth , Gehrig gained eternal life before he left this Earth.
VS
4) Wilt "The Stilt" Chamberlain scoring 100

Greatest Sports moments in history. FINAL FOUR

1) The Miracle on Ice - I remember being so in to watching this game.

3) Lou Gehrig's farewell speech - I am sorry to see the laterals gone and Gehrig's speech is a classic "moment."

The Immaculate Reception is more of a "moment" to me than Ricky's record.
