White Sox and Yankees Inching Closer

Posted on: July 5, 2009 11:29 am

As I have been breaking down the race for the AL pennant I will continue to do so.

The Yankees who were just four games back from Boston have hit a spark, winning nine of their last ten, the pitching has been terrific, the bull pen a bit above average.  Milestones have been achieved already, Mariano Rivera himself got his 500th career save, and his first career RBI.  And as we get closer and closer to the All Star Break, the Yankees are only one game back of the Red Sox, not to mention they have the second best record in the American League!

The White Sox, hitting, fielding, and pitching, all of these have been amazing recently, with the White Sox, its always a nine inning game!  Winning seven consecutive, the White Sox are only two and a half games back from the Tigers, and with a stretch of games against divisional opponents, the White Sox could take over the AL Central by the All Star break!

Well, the White Sox are going to end up winning the central, while the three teams fight it out for the east and the wild card. The sox are only going to get better, with a few trades this season.

As for th eWhite Sox, I believe this is just a little bit of luck and a good stretch. They should be sellers and try to auction off Jermaine Dye. No telling what they would get for him. I just don't believe they have the team to compete.Dont forget Quentin is coming back!  Trading Dye could be smart, espicially if they trade him for a starting pitcher and a starting position player.

Yes, the Yankees are now proving to us all that they have one of the best (if not the best) offense in the league. But, it's not too hard to play in the New Yankee Stadium. I think I could hit one out over the RF wall Tongue out. All in all, I think the Yanks beat the Red Sox to the finish, and the Rays coming up short as well. The Yankees have a nice, explosive pop to their offense, and thats a rarity to most teams right now. Teams are either looking for anothe rpower bat or another SP, but it seems as if the Yankees' problems are beginning to fade away little by little. No, this doesn't mean they should keep their team the way they are. Make the move(s) that will make them even better.

As for th eWhite Sox, I believe this is just a little bit of luck and a good stretch. They should be sellers and try to auction off Jermaine Dye. No telling what they would get for him. I just don't believe they have the team to compete. The Tigers will probably make some good moves to improve, but their downfall would be their young pitching staff. Eventually, the White Sox will hit a few bumps in the road (losing streaks, injuries, etc.). I say sell when you can Kenny Williams!

Good blog, CC... makes sense to me. Yankees have been bolstered by much better pitching out of their pen, lately, due largely in part of stability from Coke and especially Phil Hughes...

I really don't think the White Sox will make the playoffs, Red Sox will beat them in the Wild Card race!
