What A Time To Be A Chicago Sports Fan!

It started out with the Chicago Bears trading for Jay Cutler, wow!  The Blackhawks make the playoffs for the first time in over seven years and they have home ice for the first round.  The Bulls and number one overall draft pick Derrick Rose, are heading to the playoffs after a terrible start to the season.  They might even get the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.  The Cubs look like they should win the National League Central again and they may even win a game in the playoffs this year.  The Sox even look okay. I cannot forget about the Chicago Fire MLS team, which is a consistent contender for the MLS Cup every year.  I know I am not discussing championships for each team, but for the first time in a long time all Chicago teams are more than respectable.

No problem Ngltiger, I love to watch Cubs Cards games.  They are always competetive, no matter what the teams records are in a given season.  My brother-in-law is a Cards fan and we love to watch the games together.  I have respect for the Cards and the way they play baseball.  I believe the Cubs Cards is the best rivalry in baseball.

Lets see here, Carpenter is on the DL again, closer by committee aka (we don't have a closer), and Duncan's daddy is only going to take him so far.  The Cards will be lucky to finish 3rd in a pretty weak division.  Yes I am a Cubs fan, but talent wise no one can touch the Cubbies this year.  It would take nothing short of a plane crash to defeat this teams division championship run.  I have a lot of friends who unfortunately drink the same kool aid you do. What I think the gentlemen was trying to say is that Cubs rule and Cardinals drool.

Ngtiger, if you would pay attention to my blog I wrote about Chicago as a whole not the Cubs only.  I stated that the Cubs SHOULD win the NL Central, which they should. That does not mean that they WILL.  If you were wanted to know who thought the Cubs were going to win the Central look at most of the major national sports websites as well as periodicals.  As for the rest of my blog, the 7th seed Bulls beat the Celtics for the first time ever in the playoffs, which is an upset after one game even without KG.  The Blackhawks are up two nothing on the Flames, heading to Calgary.  The Sox are winning and looking good doing it and the Cubs are playing better, but championships are not won in April!! Lets see where the Cubs and Cards are in September case and point.

Sircheeks, it is true Derreck Lee sucks and I am just waiting for Rich Harden's arm to fall off.  I respect the White Sox and I even grew up on the South Side of Chicago as a Sox fan in my early years, but in 1989 I fell for the Cubs and never looked back.  I hope the Sox win and I pay attention to what they are doing, but I am a Cub fan.  I do love Chicago sports as a whole and the more we continue to win as a city the more Chicago can show everyone that Chicago is the best sports town in the nation!

What do you mean, "The Sox even look okay"?!?

They look better than your Cubs right now. What's Derrek Lee hitting now? 0.120? Rich Harden will never hold up for two seasons straight and Kevin Gregg will blow at least 20 games at this rate.

Show some South Side love, man!!!

I don't blame you for being excited. It'll be interesting to see if the Bulls can win in the first round.
