Sometimes when it comes to picks it's feels like the more I know the less I understand. I watch several hours of football each week and I spend even more time reading countless websites and even these old fashioned things called newspapers and magazines trying to keep up with everything that is happening but sometimes you wonder if there's a better way.


A lot of you I'm sure have been in NFL pools at work (or maybe I should say that I'm sure none of you have ever gambled at work or jaywalked or gone over the speed limit) and in those pools someone who still thinks Joe Montana is the quarterback of the 49ers or someone who picks the winners by uniform color beats you and you go a little nuts.

We're in the middle of the season now so picking these games should be getting easier because we know who the good teams are and who the bad teams are and yet I'm picking worse now then I did at the begining of the year. My nemesis philo is even doing worse as I've won the last 4 weeks despite the fact that I've picked winners at a lower rate then I did the first 4 weeks.

I don't know maybe I should put on a blindfold and start throwing darts or put all the team names in a hat and just see what happens. As I look for a blindfold I'll tell you what happened last week.....

It sure looks like there are a bunch of pick em' type games this week with three games that really stand out. The Ravens vs Bengals, Dallas at Philadelphia and the Monday night game of Pittsburgh at Denver should all be really good games. Kansas City at Jacksonville however could be bad for your health to watch.
