Since Delgado is out 10 weeks and it's no surprise he is older and may not be back even in 10 weeks the Mets can't afford to be without that bat for too long. I think some possible solutions are out there. Nick Johnson making about 6 million has been shopped by Washington for years now and he is a very solid hitter and has proven to be oblivious to the pressures of hitting the ball in NY and maybe can be had for a Jon Niese who isn't in the Mets plans. Aubrey Huff making about 8 million is flexible to play 1st base, 3rd base, or OF incase another injury arises again may only take a Jon Niese. Mark DeRosa making about 4.5 million is a very solid hitter who also has position flexability playing all infield positions and both corner outfield spots while Cleveland is slowly entering the abyss. Now the long shot Victor Martinez making about 8.5 million like I said earlier Cleveland could be looking to sell though maybe not VMART but its worth the offer for a big bat C/1B it will take more but maybe Murphy and Niese plus other?.
