Predict the Giants/Chargers score

Posted on: November 2, 2009 7:48 pm
Hello Giants fans,

It has been a rough 3 weeks for us and we now find ourselves in 3rd place in the NFC East. The injuries have finally caught up with us and it seems like we will fighting hard battles until we are healthy. Still 5-3 isn't a bad record and with each and every week comes a new opportunity to turn it all around. We need the defensive backs to step and have a great game. Special teams needs to improve as well.

I have been away for a while but I am now back and I look forward to hearing all of your opinions. Lets start with the matchup this week against the Chargers. What will be the keys to victory and what do you predict the final score to be. I think it will be a high scoring game but I believe the Giants can win. They must dig down deep for it but they can do it.

Final score prediction.

Giants - 35

Chargers - 31

Predict the Giants/Chargers score

New York didn't lose that game on Rivers' TD pass to Vincent Jackson in the final seconds, they lost it when they went 3 and out from the San Diego 4 yard line earlier in the fourth quarter. You just have to punch those ones in. Especially after your defense made the big play to put you in that position. Last year's Giants would have punched it in for the touchdown and the final would have been 24-14.
The good news? Still over .500 with 3 division games remaining. It's possible for them to get this done if they regroup. Teams like the Bears and Packers are in a lot worse shape for that NFC wild card race...

Predict the Giants/Chargers score

Does anyone else have an opinion about this game or want to take a shot at predicting the final score? All I know is that the G-men need this win. The need it for their record and their confidence. Hopefully, they will pull it out in the shootout I mentioned above. Let's hear your thoughts.

Predict the Giants/Chargers score

It is going to be a battle no doubt. I think the G-men can pull out the win though. The frustration among the ranks of Giants fans is evident. I was fit to be tied the past three weeks. I still have faith in Coach Coughlin and I believe in the team. You guys have seen my prediction already. I think it will be a high scoring game and it will come down to the defense once again. The Chargers are going to put up points on our DB's, I just hope our offense gets their act together and can out score them.

Predict the Giants/Chargers score

Mock U - a lot of what you're saying makes sense.  But, I just don't see the effort out of this team that we should be seeing.  There was no urgency on Sunday when they fell behind.  They weren't hurrying to the line nor hurrying to get the plays off late in the 3rd nor the 4the QTR.  I'm sorry, but I don't blame lack of effort or intensity on injuries.

Jason - I hope your prediction is correct.  But, I'll settle for a win and just generally seeing a better effort.

Predict the Giants/Chargers score

Ok fellas - You want the prediction that will give you some hope ?  - Well here it is:

#1 - The Chargers (despite their talent) have been very inconsistant as of late.

#2 - It's a long hard tiring road trip from California to New York.

#3 - The Giants would naturally be desperatly hungry for a win after a 3 game losing skid.

What does 1, 2, and 3 add up to ?

Chargers 13    Giants 31

Predict the Giants/Chargers score

Hello Charlie,

I feel your pain brother but I have to say most of our problems are due to the injuries. there is just no way at all to deny that. We are decimated by injuries and  not only those who are on IR (5) or inactive week in and week out. We have a lot of players playing through injuries. Special teams has been horrible. Our DB's have been exposed and teams are exploiting them. The LB corps need a lot of work. The offensive line hasn't been playing very well and our WR's have been dropping a lot of balls. The play calling is also suspect as of late. There are a ton of things happening that fall like dominos. Coaches are scrambling to find plays that work with the talent that is left. You can't run the same plays for a 1st string squad as you do 2nd stringers. Half of our team playing the past month has been 2nd stringers, it's just a fact. We will continue to have multiple problems until the team is fully healthy. At full strength, we could be 7-1 right now. I hope they can get the players back and start playing like we know they can.

Predict the Giants/Chargers score

This reply is going to piss off some Giants fans, and no offense to any of you, but I'm so disgusted right now I couldn't care less.

Right now, the New York Giants are a disgrace to the game of football, the NFL, their coaches, themselves, the FOX Network that airs their games, the city of New York, and all of their fans nationwide. It's one thing to lose three games in a row. Losing streaks happen. Fans can understand that. I can understand that.  But, it's quite another thing to see the Giants come out and play the way they're playing; with no intensity, no passion, no urgency, no conviction, no pulse, no inspiration, no discipline, no focus, no determination, no drive, no interest, no aggression, no life, no enthusiasm, no effort, no energy, no fight, no gonads, no guts, no testicular fortitude, no pride, no dignity, no character, no self-respect...........well, you get the picture. Eli Manning is playing like some 14-year-old street punk that's afraid of his own shadow; trying to make his High School Freshman team. They're paying Eli Manning $16 million per year, and in his past three games, he's thrown 3 TD's, 6 INT's, lost a fumble, and has completed less than half his passes. That's just unacceptable from a former Superbowl MVP; especially when you're paying him that kind of money. Brandon Jacobs is afraid to get hit all of the sudden. The Offensive Line can't run block or pass-protect anymore. The offensive play-calling is so predictable right now, the Cleveland Browns could probably stop the Giants. The Defense doesn't blitz anymore, pressure the QB, deflect passes, cover receivers, stop the run, nor tackle well. Not sure what you call that scheme. They can't come up with INT's even when they are in position. Special Teams is poor. Even worse than the poor effort and focus is the non-chalant attitude of the team. The players are saying to the press that they've been here before and are not in panic mode. Oh, really? True, in the past, they've bounced back from poor play, but this isn't the past.  Never have I seen this poor an effort and focus from the team. So, when is it time to panic? In week 13' when they're 5-6 and have lost SIX games in a row after starting 5-0? How much more can a team disgrace itself before realizing change is needed? I don't even recognize this team anymore.
This Giants team I have come to love and respect over the years has been replaced with a team that is hapless, careless, emotionless, characterless, effortless, convictionless, scrotumless, gutless, spineless, worthless, useless, pulseless, lifeless, prideless, passionless, disgraceful, disgusting, disinterested, disconnected, lack-luster, lethargic, slow, lazy, soft, weak, lame, uninspired, undisciplined, unfocused, undetermined, unaggressive, unenthusiastic, undignified, unintelligent, moronic, pitiful, pathetic, complacent, non-chalant, putrid, ...........well, you get the idea.  Rather that trying to solve the problems, they're relying on what they've done in the past; making weak statements like "We just have to play better.  We've snapped out of it before".  Those are just words.  They mean nothing when your poor play continues week after week.  I have yet to hear a plan of action from this team to correct what is happening, and what is happening is - they are getting progressively worse each week.

My prediction:

Chargers  42

; 16

Think that's ridiculous?  Well, maybe it is.  Let the Giants prove me wrong this Sunday by becoming the team they're capable of being; rather than continuing to be this disgraceful shell of their former selves that they've become.  Call me a bad fan if you must.  Just calling it like I see it.  It is a disgrace to see a team of this talent play this way.
