I have been asked numerous times, whatever
happen to Brewers prospect 3rd baseman Mat
Gamel. Is Mat Gamel still with the Brewers ???

Well tonight, he is in the same place he has
been for the last 39 games. If you were at Greer
Stadium in Nashville Tennessee, the home of the
Brewers Triple AAA, Nashville Sounds, you would
have found him, manning the hot corner. Gamel
would be batting 3rd in managers Don Money
batting order. Gamel is working his way back
to playing in the Big Leagues.

The season started, with the Brewers sending first
to High A, Brevard County. He plays in 6 games for
the Manatees, of the Florida State League. He hits
.100, with 0 homeruns and 2 rbis.

The next stop the Brewers send him to Double AA,
playing for the Huntsville Stars, of the Southern League.
Gamel plays better for the Stars in 8 games. He goes
for 11 for 28, which is a .393 batting average. He had
1 homerun and 5 rbis.

The Brewers then promote him to his current home,
the Nashville Sounds. He has 139 at bats for the Sounds.
He has 8 doubles, 3 homeruns and 23 rbis, he is hitting
.266. Gamel has an ob% is .354, with 35 K's.

He will be in the line-up again, against the Royals, triple
AAA, Omaha Royals. When will Gamel return to the Crew.
I wish I could give you the answer. Gut feeling he will
be a September call-up.  Then go to spring training in
2011, trying to make the Brewers. I suggest he grabs
an outfield glove, especially if the Brewers trade
outfielder Corey Hart.

Enjoy your baseball and Go Crew
