Way to Early NFL Power Rankings

1. New England Patriots - Brady + Belicheck = Super Bowls
2. Philadelphia Eagles - A spectular off-season solidifies a team that went to the NFC Championship Game last year.
3. Pittsburgh Steelers - The Defending Super Bowl Champions.
4. Atlanta Falcons - Ryan and Turner provide a deadly combo.
5. Minnesota Vikings - Having Adrian Peterson always gives you a chance to win.
6. Arizona Cardinals - An outstanding run in the playoffs last year. Should see similar success if Boldin plays.
7. Washington Redskins - Haynesworth improves an already great defense. If Portis has another big year, this team could challenge for the divison.
8. Carolina Panthers - The best rushing attack in the NFL.
9. Baltimore Ravens - Defense should still be great even without Bart Scott. Joe Flacco now has a year under his belt.
10. Houston Texans - A plethora of young talent.
11. San Diego Chargers - LT is probably done, but Phillip Rivers has quietly become a top QB. Merriman anchors a solid defense.
12. Chicago Bears - Cutler provides a major boost, but they lack the receiving to be an elite team.
13. New York Jets - Rex Ryan and Bart Scott gives this defense Top 5 potential. They also may have found their QB in Sanchez.
14. New York Giants - One of the best defenses in the league, but major off-season losses on offense will plague Eli.
15. Indianapolis Colts - There offense isn't what it used to be.
16. Buffalo Bills - Owens creates chaos wherever he goes, but he does score points.
17. Tennessee Titans -Vince Young is still unproven. The defense will struggle without Haynesworth.
18. New Orleans Saints - Reggie Bush has to step up this year.
19. Dallas Cowboys - Unless Roy willaims has a breakout season, Dallas wills struggle to get the ball in the endzone.
20. Green Bay Packers - Good overall, but not great in any areas.
21. Cincinnati Bengals - Look for OchoCinco to have a big year.
22. Miami Dolphins - Will Defensive Coordinators figure out the Wildcat this year?
23. Oakland Raiders - A lot of speed on offense, but Russell is still a mystery at QB.
24. Seattle Seahawks - Houshmandzadeh should give Hasselback more success this year.
25. Kansas City Chiefs - Hopefully Matt Cassell is the real deal.
26. Cleveland Browns - The standard question marks that are Brady Quinn and Braylon Edwards
27. Jacksonville Jaguars - This team still has a lot of holes to fill.
28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Derrick Ward was a great pick-up. How much will they get out of Josh Freeman?
29. Denver Broncos - Josh McDaniels, your team is falling quickly falling into the abyss.
30. Detriot Lions - A solid draft should lead to some wins.
31. San Francisco 49ers - A potential star in Crabtree is the only positive for this team.
32. St.Louis Rams - No more then 3 wins for this team next year.

I agree with ...

You have the Titans ranked a bit too low. Also, I love how so many people keep trying to comment that the Colts will sit somewhere in the top 5 yet leave San Diego out of the top ten...

You have to place them in tho top ten for sure, but there's a little bit of loyal fanaticism in those statements.

The Steelers will be back,
so will the Chargers,
the Titans,
the Colts,
the Eagles,
the Giants,
the Patriots(last year was a fluke),
and the Saints

I can account for more AFC teams that will most likely be in the runnings again this year than I can NFC, so I don't quite have 5 NFC teams picked...

but runners up will have to be:
the Vikings,
the Bears,
the Panthers,
or maybe even the Falcons.

This all seems safe to assume.

You are crazy.  Eagles are 2nd, but the Giants are 14th?  I'm telling you right now... you guys will lose AT LEAST 2 games to us this year.  You guys smacked us in the mouth last year when we were down, and then on top of that, McNabb runs his mouth by making his little phone call.  This year, it's pay-back time.  You think Osi will be ready for McNabb?  Last time he played him he put up 6 sacks... so get ready.

Your evaluations of these 2 teams could basically be flip-flopped... for example-you could say a spectacular off-season (with the signings of Canty Bernard, Boley, along with the guys we drafted) solidifies a team that was 12-4 in the regular season, and 1 game short of the NFC championship, and turn around and say about the Eagles... one of the best offenses in the league, but major off-season losses on DEFENSE will be a concern.  It's all in how you spin it.  And you guys of all people should be the last ones saying there is no way our young WR's can contribute in the 1st year.  Jackson did it for you, and your STILL counting on catching lightning in a bottle twice in a row with Maclin, so don't tell me Nicks can't come in and succeed.  All I can say is, I think you guys are over-confident, based on two games last year where you beat us in close games... what about the other games?  Like where you tied the Bengals?  Just saying.

Personally, I think you guys are crazy if you think you're going to have the same level of defensive play that you are used to.  I'll try and show you what I mean... even though we sign Canty, Bernard , and Boley, PLUS we get back Osi Umenyiora, all I've heard is how we're going to suck because we lost Spagnuolo.  Well, you guys lost Jim Johnson, Brian Dawkins, Lito Sheperd, etc., etc.  I just don't see how you losing more than us will make us worse.  And with the RB's you have to face in the NFC East (B. Jacobs/A. Bradshaw, C. Portis,/L. Betts, and M. Barber/F. Jones), I'm thinking you guys are in for a rude awakening this season.

6 NFC teams in the top 8? Not sure I agree with that...

Reasonable for August selections.  But when the season starts you will see the class of the AFC being New England, Pittsburgh, Tennessee (you have the Titans ranked too low) and the Colts.  The class of the NFC will be Carolina, Washington, Minnesota and the Eagles.  I think you have some teams ranked way too high - Atlanta #4, Cincinnati (anywhere about #33 is too high) and Buffalo (TO will tear that team apart).

Both conferences are top heavy.  There is very little in the middle (Cowboys, Bills, Chargers, Bears) and everyone else is in need of a QB, coach or defense.

actually if the best 10 teams in the NFL are all in one conference then they should still be 1-10 even if 4 of them won't make the playoffs, and the six best teams in the other conference will make the playoffs. not necessarily the 12 best NFL teams, so conference should have no impact on the order of teams.

2. I obviously did mean NFC West, and just because hassleback is healthy and has a #1 it doesn't mean anything. When Joey Harrington played for the Lions, he was very healthy and had a great #1 reciever in Roy Williams, but we all know how the Lions turned out. So you are comparing a multiple PB QB to a bust of a QB who was never even a decent QB? Oh then add the fact that 3 players on offense played in 12 or more games......3. But I'm used to the hate it'll be good to Seattle in the playoffs once again.

You are so very right.Even though I am a Pats fan,you are only as good as your last game or season and correct me if I am wrong didn't the steelers win the superbowl..I love the Pats and think they are as good as anyone with Brady and Co.I also know that you are one injury away from  not making the play-offs at all times......
