Episode 1

The show started out with showing the fighters and bringing Kimbo out last.  Was I shocked to see Kimbo, no, not really and I don't think many of the other guys were too surprised either.  The tryouts went well and to my satisfaction Team Rashad chose me, and now it's time to get to work.  Did i think I would get picked first to fight??  The thought crossed my mind and I welcomed the scenario.

Fortunately, Rampage, overlooked my ability and chose me to fight first against Abe Wagner.  When chosen a feeling of relief and anxiety went thru me.  I was excited to get my first fight on the show out of the way and get into a grove training.  The matchup with Abe favored my takedowns and top control.  The fight itself could not have went better as planned.   First round I wanted to come out and make a statement with a hard takedown.  I thru a overhand left and shot a double taking Abe to the mat.  Landed quite a few punches and finally some great elbows which slashed Abe's head wide open.  There were a couple moments when I watched the blood pout out where I thought the ref (Mazzagatti) would have stopped the fight.  I never heard him say anything so I kept pounding away to end round one.     In the middle of the round my coaches wiped the blood off my body and told me to take deep breaths.  The second round went much like the first.  Mazzagatti stood us up two or three times and I kept taking hard shots and finishing them.  Abe hung in there and I couldn't land the punch or elbow needed to make the ref stop the fight or knock Abe out.  My first fight with the TUF 10 season went great and I felt good about getting a win under my belt for me and Team Rashad.

Episode 1

It was a nice fight and I would have initially picked the other guy to win based on size, but this was a very one sided fight.  Most of what he said in the blog was true.  He did dominate, and he did open up a huge cut on the other guy's head.  His takedowns were very good.  However, to read his blog, you'd think he just continuously pummeled the guy throughout the fight.  I was surprised by the amount of blood, as when they were on the ground, Madsen didn't really seem to be beating him up.  In fact, Madsen seemed to really not know what to do when he was down there.  Rashad kept telling him to "posture up", which he really didn't do much of.  That's not to say that he didn't keep relatively busy on the ground, but he didn't seem to know how best to finish him off.

Episode 1 "You suck dude?"

Nice post guy above me. Real nice.  Why don't you get in the ring and show him how much he sucks?

As a fan I respect every single one of them that has the stones to go in the ring and throw down. EVERY ONE.  Yes, Abe didnt look ready to do anything else other than try and hang on for the 2 rounds.

I appreciate the guy taking his time out to blog about his experiences...

To Jon Madsen:

I dont think Rampage over looked your ability, it seems that he took a longshot early vs one of Rashad's guys to give the fighters he believes have a real shot at doing something more time to train.

To be honest, from watching the fight it almost looked like you were gassed a bit from working on top.  I almost thought that Abe would try and swing for the fences...but he didnt

As far as the glove touch touch gloves when the ref gives his instructions....after that its game on.

Anytime someone can come in, implement their game plan, dominate the fight and win....they sure as hell dont suck.

Episode 1

You suck dude, youre lucky you fought someone with no talent and absolutely no defense against the take down. Wait til you fight Kimbo who actually has a decent takedown defense. Gonna beat your fat face in.
