Steelers Looked Good in a tough loss

Posted on: September 21, 2009 4:39 pm
Yes the Steelers are 1-1 after 2 weeks and yes they also lost to the urlacherless Bears Sunday evening in Chicago, but there is no reason to panic Steelers and Steelers fans!
The Steelers had about 6x as many yards in the 1st qt. than the bears and this may of caused the "its a wrap" attitude to come down on many Steelers players. The usually reliable Jeff Reed Missed two very makeable kicks in the 4th quarter which could of sealed a Steelers victory yesterday.
On the upside the Steelers run game looked better than it has in quite a long while and the o-line played GREAT! All 3 of the Steelers backs broke atleast a 15 yd run against a run yd. stingy Bears D. Willie Broke off a 30+ yd run as well as Mendenhall and 3rd string and 3rd down back Mewelde Moore also broke off a long 15 yd run late in the game. But, the most impressive thing was the way that the Steelers o-line protected big ben and gave him time to make progressions and throws. Ben had time all day to get down to his 3rd or 4th check and it was very needed for Steeler fans to see that.
With the easy part of the schedule ahead for the Steelers and a toughr road ahead for Baltimore, in a 10 weeks time period the Steelers will have a comanding lead on the AFC north and will have a chance to lock it up when it plays Baltimore. with only the Vikings and the Ravens(maybe Packers and Chargers) being the tough games in their last 14 games the steelers should have nothing but a 1st round bye home field advantage and momentum when heading to the playoffs.
The Steelers have a legitimate shot at getting that 7th ring this winter and u so called Steeler fans that thing they suck because of a week 2 away game loss to a tough Defense.....jump on another band wagon cause we dont want u around !

Steelers Looked Good in a tough loss

They did a great job protecting Big Ben and that was one of their main concerns coming into the season. As the season goes on the O-line will get more consistant blocking for the running game. Stop panicking folks- you can't expect the Steelers to win every game or blow out every opponent. Think about it? Would you take a season they had last year with 4 losses and a Superbowl ring or 19-0 season like the Patriots did and not come home with a ring? It's a no brainer!! Losses are good, they will come out this week and improve on their mistakes. If they made those 2 field goals it would of been a diiffernt outcome, but that's part of the game. We still don't have Troy Polomula and an injured Timmons.
One side note: Mike Wallace looks great or what? He should of had a TD in the game against the bears but Big Ben under threw the ball and it got pick off. He had his man beat.

Blk&gld forever!!

Steelers Looked Good in a tough loss

"Bears Looked Bad in a Tough Win" should be the title of this.
